In this video I will show you how I made miniature baskets including a picnic basket with a hinged lid and moveable handles.

Oh my goodness! I've wanted to make a pine needle basket since I watched "Wild she goes" so long ago. I knew just the place to find long needles lying on the ground here, in Washington. They turned out to be still too short. I gave up. Now you come along and show a great way to use shorter needles and make the cutest tiny baskets ever. I will try this as soon as I find some shorter needles. I can't go back to the original place. I once made a mini basket out of long grass. It was woven. I left it on a pile of lumber, with a filbert nut inside, for the squirrels. Haven't seen it since. How clever you are! Thank you!

Thumbs that hit the wrong button, man! That wee little bassinet is too cute. Thanks for sharing!

I was inspired by that same lady to make a little basket out of wire. I used copper wire as the "needles" and a red wire as the "thread", it came out super cute and about the size of my pointer finger tip.

You could make that big basket into a bed with a ladder in one of your dollhouses .
  • I'm just loving watching all your beautiful creations while I'm in recovery from wrist surgery. You explain things so simple and so,easy to understand, thanks so much. I love your sweet pineneedle baskets.

I am amazed at how creative you are, Sharon! For many years, I have wished that there were tiny baskets in the craft stores, but there never were any. Now Your video comes along, and you show how to make miniature baskets using pine needles! Yay! I live across the road from a bunch of pine trees, and there are needles all over the ground. I'll try doing what you do in your video, and hope that what I make is as good as your work! Oh, thank you so much, Sharon, for this tutorial! My gnomes will be happy to have baskets made for them! Stay safe! ~Janet in Canada

How about a gnome hat ? I really love this. There is so many options.
  • Love your style of no rules and just do it! My baskets usually decide for themselves what they will become. Can't wait to try making the Picinic basket.
  • I love your videos for a lot of reasons, I love that you don’t have “sponsored” videos or try to sell us on buying or using any particular products, you give suggestions for different materials that would work, you keep costs way down, you show the whole process without taking too much time, you don’t tell long stories, just cute and funny details about inspirations, you show mistakes, my young Grandsons and I enjoy watching them together, you ad the edits to the videos so we don’t have to go find them later, you do the time stamps, etc…I could go on and on. I love learning new things but struggle to find videos that are useful, enjoyable, and pleasant from start to finish. I’ve learned a lot already and will share my beginner project with you when my Grandsons and I finish our “Dragon Forest”. Lol Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!
  • I’m so glad u made this video. I’ve missed your crafts! I hope everything is well. I also hope to see more videos from u! Stay safe and take care!
  • Oh oh fun. They have these huge pine needles in texas from my hand to my elbow. I went for a little walk when my sister was truck driving I'd hop out and see what I could see.
