Loved this. My dad is taking care of my mom with alzheimers. He is 80 trying to learn to cook for her. I greatly appreciate all these recipes and hope to be able to go buy an Instant Pot soon for them.
  • works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside youtube.com/post/UgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxX… and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.

A tip to make white rice fluffy add about 1/2-1 teaspoon white vinegar(or apple cider). You won't taste the vinegar. I tried your carrots and ended up cooking them longer(?). Love that Kalua pork recipe you provide and will try it (I grew up in Hawaii).

I really enjoyed the tips, the bacon & green beans, oatmeal variations and the yogurt recipes. Thank you. I’m a 60 yo who is cooking for myself, most of the time. I’m busy with university study and a new career and I don’t enjoy cooking for myself as much as I did, prior to being widowed and the kids growing up and moving out. I’m really lucky that Australians, have made the most of our multicultural society and embraced the culinary delights the world offers us. The American recipes that I have found on YouTube don’t satisfy the mediteranian, asian, middle eastern and mexican inspired food I'm used to cooking in a traditional manner. The motivation to prepare and clean-up without company to make the work enjoyable, no longer exists. The energy cost is also a factor. That is why I’m being drawn to Insta-Pot and Air Frying. Off the top of your head, is there a video or YT channel you’ve know where entire meals are made, that are full of vegetables , fresh herbs and minimal meat? I have saved this video in my ‘Food’ playlist and I’ve subscribed. All the best.
  • I love the instant pot so much! I have made quinoa, chicken, chili, asparagus MyBest.Kitchen and yogurt in it so far. The only thing that didn't work great was the asparagus. I cooked it for 1 minute and it was still overdone. It is a timesaver and uses much less energy than my gas stove.
  • Thanks for time stamping & categorizing your video. A huge help that I wish more content creators put the effort into. Wishing you continued success 🙏🏼

The way to tell if your artichoke is cooked soft enough is if you can pierce into the cut stem with a knife. Place the tip of the knife at the center of the meaty part of the cut stem and it should slide towards the center of the artichoke like butter. Otherwise your artichoke heart won’t be soft enough and that just won’t do. It’s all about that tender, succulent artichoke heart. By the way, I was taught by my mom to cut the stem very close to the bottom of the artichoke, so it sits fairly flat while you’re working with it as you eat. Plus it makes the pierce test more reliable because you’re working with less of the woody stem. And I always cook it with the stem facing up so I can test and resume cooking, if need be. 😊

Wowwwwww. 1 hour of Instant Pot recipes. You. Are. Amazing!!! 🙌
  • I like that you get right down to business and don't try to be too cutesy or silly! Thank you.

I am so glad I found you, I have been on the fence about purchasing the Instant Pot. I do not like to cook but I owned a pressure cooker many, many years ago and I loved it. I actually used it until I couldn't find seals for it anymore. Just a note, I am so glad you don't have music playing while you are teaching it is so much easier to understand what you are saying. Thank you so much for your you-tube videos.
  • @jennymontague851
So happy I found you. Been looking for someone who can cook a varuety of foods simply for a long time. Thank you. Please don't go away.
  • @makulewahine
I cooked a spaghetti squash after watching your video. It had been hanging around because I didn't know what to do with it. Magic!!! Thanks.
  • @tamnguyen610
I have finally found you! Thank you! I have been struggling with cooking Asian food as it usually takes really long, and lots of prepping. You are helping me make cooking faster and still get to eat my Asian food!

Here is a cooks tip. Potatoes can come in odd sizes, and as you guess it will cook at different rates where the smallest done first. The trick is to cut them into uniform sizes. Cut them into rings like you would a carrot. You have control over the ring size and as the thickness is uniform your cook time will always be the same. I would suggest 1 to 1 and 1/4 inch rings

This is now my go to video for cooking in my instant pot. Thank you! ❤
  • Your loaded baked potatoes soup looks delicious. My hubby will not go NEAR sour cream, so I thicken the soup with potato flakes so it will still taste like the soup. vowalllla ... and finish with the cheese and onion. Perfect!!

A great presentation, Lisa. Your smile is so welcoming. I'd only say that many chefs no longer peel ginger prior to fine grating. The skin is very thin and actually nutritious, so you save a ton of time, and don't waste a bit of that tasty root. At most, a quick brushing under a tap is fine. The grating process reduces the skin to tiny shreds, virtually undetectable in the final dish.
  • What a great, helpful video, I wish I would have seen this when I first got the Instant pot (a DVD of you should really come with the machine). ("Oh that's what that means" "Now I understand why that happened", etc. etc). Lisa is a gifted instructor. Highly recommend.
