I just realized why prostitution isnt illegal in Canada, but buying services is. It's so that vulnerable people wont be criminally charged.
  • @amt1380
The fact that people go to jail for prostitution but traffickers just get to be free is disgusting

I'm an Indonesian millennial, so I was a child in 1998. Thanks to people like Shandra who bravely protested on the streets, we don't have a military dictatorship anymore in Indonesia. I'm so angry that she was exploited after what she was willing to do for other people. Her traffickers had no idea what kind of badass they were dealing with.
  • One thing I want to point out is that Women can also be traffickers. All the women in this story were trafficked by men but other women are another tactic used to trick their next victim into trusting them. To anyone reading this comment, please Be aware of your surroundings at all times and never do anything you’re uncomfortable with, even if you think you can trust the person pressuring you. Thank you for this series Anthony. Not only does it teach so many important lessons, it shares so many people’s stories as well. These women are SO STRONG!

The fact that so many people responsible don’t end up in jail is disgusting. And that law enforcement wouldn’t help Shandra. Horrible.
  • Isn’t it crazy that when Andrew Tate was accused of human trafficking people said “even if he did do it it’s not that bad” 😑💀
  • @emptybliss96
I’m a native woman and the amount of our women and children that are trafficked is horrendous and astounding. Thank you for shedding light on this subject
  • @DoubleDee16
it’s so crazy because everyone usually thinks “oh that wouldn’t happen to me” until it happens

When she said “a lot of our girls have autism” and the way she said it too, my heart dropped to my stomach. I’m an autistic girl, I don’t make eye contact, I have no self esteem, I come from an abusive household, I have social anxiety and PTSD... I’m literally so vulnerable and it just makes me so scared. I’m crying now remembering that I have entered into strange men’s cars (twice). I’m not a religious person, although I’m pretty spiritual, but the fact that this happened twice, especially with me being so vulnerable, it makes me think that there is someone or something looking over me. That could have ended so badly, I had just considered rape, it didn’t even occur to me until seeing her speak about it that I could have been kidnapped and trafficked. That scares me so so much, I’ll literally never go out alone again

I was trafficked in 2014 and am starting to finally try to deal with what happened. I'm considering opening up and talking about it in a video... maybe something more. I've been waiting to watch this episode for over a year, in fear of ripping in to old wounds, but today I deemed ready. Thank you for this Anthony. These women went through very similar experiences a I did. Situations went from bad to worse and soon you don't see any way out. After being a missing person for a few months, with no help from the general cops, US Marshals were able to track me down and rescue me from that environment. I am so lucky to be alive, and would love to one day find the strength to evolve into that "leader" category all these strong women were able to blossom into.
  • @yikes9944
Why is no one talking about how she WENT TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AND THEY DID NOTHING??? I’m so confused and it’s making me so mad
  • @emmahos2241
I was trafficked from the ages of 9-11. I live in a nice town, it was through my old church. I got out but I've been r@ped so many times by so many people I've lost count. This really needs to be talked about more.

I was sex trafficked by my own father at a very young age in return for him to get drugs or money for drugs. I don’t remember most of that time, but it was terrible and I wouldn’t wish that situation on anybody and it’s really sad to know that many people go through similar experiences..some even die in the hands of their buyers or traffickers.. it’s just tremendously sad.
  • @crystalrose3400
The fact that there are hundreds of dislikes on this video is concerning.
  • That navy officer is a hero. He is an example of what we should do when we come across someone who is trafficked. These women are so strong 💜

This was so hard to watch. It actually brought me to tears. My wife is a trafficking survivor. She was trafficked at 18 and didnt get out till i helped her get out and start over somewhere new. We now have a son and are happily married for 5 years. But hearing this from someone else hits so hard. I feel like i understood her trauma but this made me realize i had no idea.
