Just traded my 2012 FWD Escape XLT for an Escape S 4 days ago, so far, I am very pleased with it. Has these nice features as mentioned in the video, There were some things on the '12 not featured on the '18 S, however, the newer technology and nice color screens are welcomed! I also believe that the new Escapes are better protected from road salt and sand, as all the metal edges are covered !

The Escape S also has daytime running lights. They are not LED's though, like the higher trim levels. It is an "old school" system that uses the headlights at a reduced power/brightness. They may not be activated on the lot. To activate them press the left directional arrow on the left (OK) group of buttons > SETTINGS > VEHICLE > LIGHTING and then make sure the DRL box is checked. To use them have the headlight switch in the automatic position. The light sensor on top of the dash will sense it is daylight and will turn the headlights only on as DRL's at a reduced brightness/power, then as it senses darkness, it will turn all the lights on as normal.

Problem.. need help. Just got a 2018 Ford escape.... the all the power points (cigarette lighter Outlets).. they stay powered even when the car is completely off.. is there a way to deactivate this.. .. I have an aftermarket dashboard cam that I am powering through one of these Outlets.. with my old vehicle whenever I would take the key out the device will power down.. with this 2018 Ford Escape even when I take the key out the device stays powered. will this drain my battery and is there a way to deactivate this.. without manually unplugging it each time..
