Charlie feels like a guy that got lost and showed up at the range and they were to nice to make him leave so they let him help. love it
  • @Xolais
Charlie truly is the embodiment of "He's a bit confused, but he got the spirit."
  • This shield is used mainly when storming apartments. Criminals mainly use either Makarov, Kalashnikov, or smoothbore rifles. That is, the shield performs its task 100%. And the operator will not have time to get tired, because storming the premises is not a marathon. But there are other shields.
  • If you raid a building and the first man carries the shield, with a gunner following him, this can definitly protect you when engaging multiple hostiles. Not everyone has a M1 Garand with armor piercing rounds just laying around. So legit depending who you are dealing with.

The fact that Charlie is using two cans as "binoculars" is amazing. 15:19
  • @DutchLee58
Charlie is the best... Dude holding up cans like they are binoculars, being focused on the feet protector, and of course saying he always wears a helmet. I love it all. There's nothing quite as funny as him just being weird for no reason.
  • This shield isnt used by regular army...it's used by Speztnaz Storm Groups Like the Alfa (A), Vityaz (B) , Vympel Group and FSB and more or less by Omon...the 🟥 is ment as psychological effect so that person aims and shoots at it during a firefight...newer shields have a bright flashing strobe light for that instead.

In Russia, protective equipment based on ballistic fabric is decommissioned after five years. Since it is believed that the fabric loses its properties over time. If this shield is 5 or more years old, then it is impossible to say exactly how it performed when it was new.
  • “You could line up 3 maybe even 7 malnourished Japanese soldiers and it will still go right through” Charlie is the guy that says something from left field but it’s still accurate.
  • @Semargle
This is a police shield, not an army shield. It is usually used to enter a room where a person armed with a shotgun or pistol is located.
  • @connordalton4553
As others said when this was posted, it's mainly a police item for use in clearing apartments. You would primarily be anticipating handguns, smoothbore firearms, etc. And to that end, it did its job well.

Charlie, hello. I've watched a lot of your videos, you've done a great job. I would just like to correct you, ballistic shields such as "Vant-LM" and "Vant-VM" are not used by army units. They are used by the internal troops of the FSB and OMON, the so-called "anti-terror groups" aimed at countering gangs and terrorists, respectively, they are designed to protect against fragments of homemade call devices and light weapons.
  • GT's channel has always been fire but its worth noting that ever since he invented science its been even better.
  • @miliket4tom
The VANT shield is truly a futuristic design. They were built with space warfare doctrine in mind. You can clearly see this when the operator hold the shield up and standing, only his feet would expose outside the shield and if you squint your eyes it looks just like Amogus

The 14:12 comment literally had my wife and I in tears 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Charlie is the hero we never knew we n
  • @jacobalva7929
would be interesting if you had some sort of force measure behind it so we have an idea what the person holding it might experience. great video.
  • @cschultzy56
GT - "Legend has it, that these can take an RPG hit and survive!" Me - "Bullshi..." GT - "But not the Russian operator behind them." Me - "Nevermind. That checks out."
  • @sski
Charlie is absolutely hilarious, even in his moments of clarity, like at the end of the video.
  • @DaxTheRipperX
You guys are hilarious and knowledgeable. Definitely need yall own show.
  • @mmahanor
You earned my like when Charlie was about to explain his opinion in depth and then opted instead to declare that he just likes feet. Absolutely brilliant.
