Oprah Winfrey, cited by Time magazine as the most influential woman of the 21st century, says providing an education to some of South Africa's poorest black girls, is one of her biggest achievements. ABN's Godfrey Mutizwa caught up with her for an exclusive interview at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls as she prepared to celebrate the school's first matriculants.

After all these years, she still inspires me so much ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’›
  • The book Oprah mentioned is called "Half the Sky" by Nicholas Kristof, two time winner of the pulitzer prize. And the woman she was referencing in the story about the girl with the dreams under a rock is Dr. Tererai Trent. Awesome legacy!

"I don't want to die not having completely burned out every single possibility of my humanity." ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ Speak sis!

Reading the comments on her many have never been to Africa let alone their own State or Country. Which is amazing in the 21st century. Don't believe what the media tells you about Africa. I am an African, born Ian's raised in the UK but have travelled the world. Yes, if you believe in yourself. You can get what ever you want. Oprah is the sister I never had and I have watched and learnt from her for the last 25years. When you know it's time to let go and move on, the time is now

This is definitely my favourite interview of Oprah Winfrey. It was just so honest and touching and comfortable. You could tell she was totally enjoying herself. Loved it!

The story with the girl writing and burying it under a rock sounds like what we Black Americans call Hoodoo, but Oprah would never admit that but its our culture ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’›

of course CNN, FOX, etc would discourage her from creating her OWN network as she would be competition.

The interviewer seemed rather rude when he told Oprah to speak quickly. When I see and hear something that doesn't jive with the American way I point it out, and the way that he rushed Oprah is not the American way. Oprah knew how to respond to him.
