Mistakes to Note

42:41 Dave Stewart made 2 starts in the 1989 World Series. This makes a lot more sense now lol

  • The fact that he broke the steal record barely halfway though his career is just insane
  • @PensFan35
‘I started hitting more home runs when I learned how to hit home runs’ is probably one of my favorite baseball quotes ever
  • "Speed demon, Tony LaRussa." I needed a good 5 minutes to recover from that one
  • @alexseradj3003
I had the honor of seeing Rickey collect his 3000th hit live at Tony Gwynn’s last game and when he held up that bat plaque even at 6 years old I knew I was seeing something truly special. What an absolute legend!
  • @shrapnel77
Rickey Henderson was one of the greatest physical specimens to ever step foot on a baseball field. Period.
  • I hope Rickey henderson sees this video to know how much he is appreciated. He's completely right about people's fascination with home runs. This man dominated the league with his speed and plate discipline, should be the true role model for future generations
  • @ndrocca
I’m not even done watching this video, but this has already become my go-to video in what to point to if people ask why Rickey Henderson is my favourite baseball player and why he is one of my favourite athletes ever.
  • @RetroBaseball
1 hour and 17 minutes of SRS?!?! what type of alternate universe have we entered this fine afternoon.
  • Rickey Henderson stole at least 30 bases in a season in 4 DIFFERENT DECADES! What a player
  • @darkstar92772
I heard the tenure story a little differently. He was sitting in Tony Gwynn's seat on the base and someone said "that's Tony's seat, he's got tenure." To which Rickey replied "Rickey got 20 year." Either way Rickey stories are the stuff of legend.
  • @15allnite
This was VERY well done! As many others have stated, Rickey is my favorite player all-time. So when someone takes the time to show just how incredible a player he was, I have to watch. I’m glad I did, too. The game has just not been the same since he left it.

An hour of SRS Mike and Rickey Henderson is all I need to do sociology vocabulary
  • I was born in the 60's and had the pleasure of seeing some of the greatest ballplayers who ever played the game. Let me tell you this, Rickey Henderson was one of the greatest I ever saw. Always exciting, and never disappointed. Whenever he came up to bat, you just knew something was gonna happen.
  • @SuperStrik9
As a Blue Jays fan Rickey was a great addition to the 93 team. Winning back to back World Series was a great accomplishment and something I'll remember for the rest of my life.
  • @fromulus
In a Red Sox fan, have been since age 11 in 1990. It was an honor to watch Rickey for that one year. He was old and so far past his prime, but he's literally baseball, like the other greats. Ted Williams was pure baseball, Mays, Brock, Musial, all of the absolute legends, they all personify the game in one way or another, Rickey's right there. It's just in his bones.
  • @bigjared8946
" I'm too much speed in my mouth, and I don't sometimes come out clear as I want to." Truly one of the greatest among the greats and one of my favorite Seattle Mariners.
  • @seanc2213
Rickey Henderson is by far my favorite baseball player of all time. It was a pleasure to watch him play.
