Today, we follow the evolution of the Madden NFL Franchise as we score a touchdown from retro version 1988 - the first Madden created, to 2021 - the mode recent Madden. We'll be able to track and get my reaction to graphics and gameplay from each year and from game to game - console to console.

Fun fact: The Browns in 1992 (who you played against in this video) were coached by Bill Belichek. And they traded an 8th round pick to the NE Pats who ended up being Troy Brown who starred as a WR during the Patriots early 2000 - 2008 runs to the superbowl of which they won 3 and appeared in 4. Idk thought it was kinda interesting

The kick return at 5:04 cracks me up. The excitement of going to score then suddenly silence when he realizes his player just falls in the open field with no one in front or around him.

This is like 2 years late but when you throw the ball in the old 90s games it automatically puts you in control of the receiver you threw it to, so then you have to run the receiver to the spot the ball is going to land to make the catch. That's why you couldn't ever complete any passes in the old games. When you took control of the receiver you weren't running to where the ball will land.

First Madden on Genesis you could score touchdowns at will with Houston. Pick the Shotgun > Post Up. Pass to WR1. He's always way behind the defense and cannot be caught. I used to score over 500 points a game running only that play and then doing an onside kick (A, C, B, B, B) and they'd recover every single time. The other team would literally never get possession of the ball.
