On this episode of Make it Real, we're making another OVERWATCH BUILD! From one of the most dangerous characters, we're building the DOOMFIST GAUNTLET!

In the past we've made Torjborn's turret    • Make it Real: Torbjörn's Turret (BUILD)   , Genji's Sword    • Make Your Own Genji Sword! (FREE TEMP...  , and even Zarya's Particle cannon    • Make it Real: Zarya's Particle Cannon...  !

Watch us use our engineering skills and knowledge to create this ultimate working cosplay, and don't forget to check out our other Make it Real videos where we bring fictional technology to life!

The only way to test which powerfist is better is to punch eachother right in the fist

“Lets see what it can do to a door” door is like 90% glass
  • @zachw2906
Sarcasm aside, the first thing I'd recommend is adding an armature that distributes force through the shoulders and pelvis. Then you could attach springs to take up some of the massive weight of the fist (kinda like how a garage door is counterbalanced by springs). That would make it easier to swing around. It would swing with less force, but the real force is supposed to come from the pistons anyway. The armature could also help distribute the recoil of extending the pistons and smashing the fist into something - that way, it would rock you back on your feet instead of breaking your arm, which is always a plus. Properly braced, you could dump the recoil into the ground under your feet. Probably too late for this build, but might be useful for your next large, heavy object. Cheers

I love it how this guy explains every bit of his project.Keep up the good work.
  • What I learned from this video: A TV makes up for a better door than an actual door
  • @malaizze
Sorry, but this looks so good that Blizzard will nerf it and make it useless.
  • @tupperwoo2742
You should combine this with the exo skeleton so you can lift the fist!
  • @Bigbaddude3
It's basically just the weight breaking the stuff right? Wouldn't the pneumatic pressure just push your arm back when you try and use it on an object? As long as it's not smaller and lighter than yourself I mean. I'm not sure if what I'm saying makes sense...
  • @fredin_
You guys should combine your exoskeleton and fist try adding the arc reactor too. Would love that combo.😋
  • @wyattsmity7260
how many hacksmiths does it take to realize you could just strap that onto your exoskeleton and have an easier time lifting it
  • @zetalionog3198
NOW ATTACH IT TO THE EXO SKELETON SO YOU CAN TRULY WEILD THIS BEAST
  • @agentfuse6416
I wonder if Hacksmith could make the vibranium arm cannon from Black Panther. Not sure how it would work, but it would be a very cool project.

@the hacksmith i like the jab to the US for using imperial measurements haha. im from the US and couldn't agree more base 10 is so much better

I think I am enjoying shows like this immensely - for me the fun comes from figuring out where something like this would be used to best advantage.
  • Why don't you combine the doom-fist (except make it more practical, lighter and less flashy) and your exolegs, and kinda combine them and implement small thing like joints at the elbows and knees that help your arms and legs support the weight and make it faster and more efficient, It may take a while and a lot of money but just make it a series on making a full combat suit. I think it would be really awesome to see you and your team make something that could make even the weakest human be able to lift 2,000 pounds and punch through solid concrete. I am not an engineer but i do have some theories on how this would work. Including hydraulic joints kinda like the hulk buster suit (since you like to draw inspiration from superheros) but I would love to see it tried. It would be a cool series.

It’s already extended when hitting the target. Not implementing the impact of the pneumatics per say at all. Improve it by having a quick release diaphragm style valve to really dump the air quickly into the cylinder.Drill out the cylinder ports about 60% bigger. Then put a impact sensor on the top of the fist . Adjust your trigger timing accordingly.
