20 Marvel Actors Uncomfortable Costumes And Prosthetics

No pain no gain - right? Marvel actors are used to looking very cool, but not always feeling so great when they’re on set. The costumes have caused the performers quite a bit of danger too - and just think of how many hours they’ve spent sitting in a makeup chair being transformed!
Elizabeth Olsen was not feeling so confident in her original Scarlet Witch outfit - which is why when it came time to bring the new one to the screen, the Wanda Maximoff actress was consulted the entire way. Doctor Strange’s cape looks great and sure it helps him fly, but Benedict Cumberbatch wasn’t as free to move around as you’d think. Barón Mordo - have you seen those layers? Let’s just say there was a lot of sweat involved. Just as much sweat as was inside Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow costume. The actress was perspiring so much, that she wound up needing to wring her socks out at the end of the day! Kathryn Hahn may be newer to the MCU, but her turn as Agatha Harkness saw her in all her glory - but since filming was at the peak of the California wildfires… Well, a secret weapon was key in helping the actress get through.
Chris Hemsworth is strong, there’s no doubt about it - and while he wasn’t looking so fit as fat Thor, the fact is, he was actually in very good shape, needing to carry around 60 pounds more than he was used to because of his suit!
These outfits weren’t ideal for the performers, but they powered through and brought some pretty incredible and out-of-this-world characters to life.

Which costume/prosthetic looks the most uncomfortable 😓?!
  • Scarlet Witch and Dr Strange has one of the best comic accurate and cooler costume in the MCU.
  • @khalilahd.
They’re commitment to these characters and costumes is astounding. Definitely have more respect for them 👏🏽
  • I think Lizzie's favourite suit to wear would the latest one from Multiverse Of Madness as it has a high collar which doesn't make it revealing, has full sleeves and is comic accurate at the same time. So I assume Lizzie would've liked to wear her latest suit the most.
  • Literally Elizabeth Olsen mentioned a lot about the superheroine costume for a long time, I think since her first participation in The Age of Ultron, it's good that she finally got what she wanted, I wonder what costume she likes the most? The one from Wandavision or the one from Multiverse of Madness? I like them both, although I would say I like Wandavision's costume a little better, but I love her hair and Multiverse of Madness makeup.

It's funny, superheroes in the comics design their own costumes the give themselves freedom of movement and comfortability although Spider Man's costume or similar costumes are impractical in winter for being to thin and the chances of ripping Movie costumes are HIGHLY impractical to wear
  • Indeed about what is said to Scarlet Witch. You hardly tell if she had corset on or not. Her new outfit does make her the character that she is.

The Guardians holiday special had Drax wearing a shirt and a Christmas sweater then in Guardians 3 he wears a space suit I'm pretty sure those scenes were written to allow Dave Bautista less time in the make-up chair.
  • Lets face it. Every supersuit is uncomfortable for the actor to wear and work in simply because every superhero and supervillain (Marvel and DC both) wear spandex suits and no one would like to wear such tights suits except fictional characters. Even actors like Josh Brolin, Taika Watiti and Mark Ruffalo who portray CGI characters have to wear those uncomfortable CGI suits.
