  • Burn My Eyes 100% I drew that MH logo all over my college books and bags 😊
  • @ziopsis
I'm gonna say it... Slayer I love all their first 5 but that debut is perfect
  • @alexperry4691
Metal Church's debut is their best also, arguably one of the best metal debuts of all time...Also i think im the only guy on the planet who enjoyed Earth Crisis Slither lol
  • Like An Ever Flowing stream is without a doubt my favorite death metal debut ever. Hell it might even be my favorite death metal album ever.

Completely agree with Burn My Eyes! Soul of a New Machine by Fear Factory was a really influential one. Their former bassist Christian Olde Wolbers says it's his favorite FF album (does acknowledge that he wasn't even on it lol). Archtype was my favorite, and Demanufacture & Obsolete are often considered favorites to most people. But gotta admit, it slaps in it's unique ways: guitar tones, songwriting (especially with the wide variety of themes and concepts compared to "Machines Uprising" concept they would mostly stick with later), and the fact that bands weren't really doing the clean/growl mixes of vocal techniques. I'd say it deserves some inclusion for this topic

Van Halens' first album. Not heavy metal but an influential band to the world of heavy rock. An argument could be made for Queensryche's first album too. Loved it as a teen in the 80s and still listen to it on occasion. A lot of good tips in this video to check out further too, guys. Cheers.
  • Great episode guys! IMO, many punk and hardcore artists first albums are there best. The Clash, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, The Damned, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Fear, Cro Mags, Agnostic Front, The Supersuckers, Leeway, Sick of it All, Agent Orange, All out War, Descendents. The list goes on. Also Alt Metal/Hard Alt. Quicksand, Primus, Helmet, Janes Addiction, Fugazi, Mudhoney, Nirvana, Danzig. My wife would like to also add The Go Gos, Madonna, and Morbid Angel

  • Yo that debut album from Paradise Lost though. That shit is flames!🔥
  • Korn's Debut changed the direction of heavy music forever and never need to be shy about how important it was
  • Here's for a future suggestion, do "bands whose debuts are terrible but the rest of the bands discography is either good or killer". 😃
  • Surprised Soads debut wasn’t mentioned. Personally I like toxicity slightly more but their debut is arguably their best.
  • @mojuy11
Thanks for the Arsis rec. Never listened to them but this debut is absolutely stellar! So melodic and catchy
  • @DiVitoC
I fucking love Deicide, I don’t think they’ve ever put an album I didn’t like, but The debut is the best!
  • Strike of the Beast. I seen Exodus play it live and saw Slayer cover it in 2013 and they killed it. I bet there were some folks in the crowd who didn’t know what song it was. 🤘
