The Alaska Highway is one of the best road trips in North America. The route travels 1,400 miles through British Columbia, the Yukon and Alaska. Along the way you will be greeted by amazing views, lots of history and countless wildlife. We spent 6 days driving the road and enjoyed every minute of our time on the Alaska Highway. • Josh, I envy you and your dad so much...my dad and I had talked about taking this trip when I retired from work but when I did finally retire he became very ill and passed away. How I wish we could have done what you and your Pops did. I lived thru you guys on your journey and thought a lot about how much my dad would have loved it. Keep traveling with your dad and taking those awesome videos. Steve R.

Did this in the summer of 2019. Three month trip from SoCal all through Alaska. Dream trip in my 15’ trailer, wife and dog and cat. Trip of a lifetime. I wanna GO BACK!!!
  • One of your best videos ever, not just for beauty and excitement, but for fun!

I drove this highway on my way to the University of Alaska back in the fall of 1965. It was all gravel back then and I remember before the trip I made a plexiglass cover for my windshield. I was warmed that the 18 wheel trucks kicked up lots of stones and one really needed this or you would have Yukon Roses covering the windshield. I also had to put fiver glass shields inside my fenders. This was to protect the fenders from becoming blown out be the gravel. Also there was so much dust when stuck behind other vehicles. I believe I was on it for a week. The vehicle was a 1965 VW Beetle that my parents gave me as a graduation gift for finishing my degree in geology at Lafayette college on the prior June. I had a friend with me and we camped along the way in a tent. I remember hearing animals around the tent in the middle of the night but we had been careful to put all our food and cooking gear safely in the car with all windows closed. It was the onl😮y time I rode the highway as after finishing my MS degree in November of 1967, my new wife and I took the inland passage down to Vancouver and then proceeded in the VW on to the east coast to go into the US Army for officer corps of engineers training at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. I always looked back at this trip on this gravel road as a highlight of the fall on the year.
  • The banter between you and your dad is as fun to watch as the travel content itself.
  • I’m an Alaskan living in Ketchikan. It’s always a thrill to listen to tourists enjoy the beauty of our state. This is why we live here!❤️
  • Thanks for the video and for sharing such a wonderful memory....my parents were too busy working and making a living to be able to do this great trip....then unfortunately when we had the time and money my parents were too ill with health issues and no longer able to even think about planning...you are blessed to have this bonding time....cherish every minute

Thanks for a lovely ride! I always wanted to go to Alaska but now I am 73 and living in Baja California, México and I don't think I will get to. But I enjoyed seeing your beautiful video. ☮️💜
  • What a great production! I was born and raised in Anchorage, spent many hour on the Alcan! I am 59 can't even remember how many times I have went and came back home! Enjoy! We Welcome great people! Thanks
  • That bear was the cutest! I have a cat named Polar Bear and it reminded me of when he's on his back, playing, rolling around...wanting belly rubs...so cutie!
  • Thanks for the beautiful, interesting trip! I like and laugh when you tease one another. Pops lying out flat, being stung and bloody under the giant mosquito’s blood 🩸 tipped stinger, is a classic funny!!!
  • @donyagura6971
Very well done. We did this same road trip, in 2018 and again last summer (2022). You provided a lot of details, which is helpful for travelers.
  • Pops is too funny 😅 thanks for taking us along. Great video as always!
  • Moved from So Cal to BC 11 years ago. Live around the ALCAN these days, and much for the same reason that you all were excited for the Yukon. I haven't done this drive yet though, which is why I watched this. Thanks for the enthusiasm! I still feel this way about BC after a decade of living in it.
  • One of the best videos you ever made! And seriously.. thank you for making them. Please don't stop. It's almost therapeutic to just leave this on playing. And props to Pops for that Outro. Best one yet!
  • I envy you and your pops for doing this! Great job guys!
  • @mablaba3629
I love your calm delivery and thorough coverage of options!
  • Such great videos with your Dad! We loved the Route 66 Series and planned our trip around it! Maybe I’ll be able to do an epic trip with my 2 sons….
