Get me some Flex Tape and a sledgehammer and I'll have It's Tough to be a bug turned around within the month!
  • @legoman2313
The people running the parks division are unbelievably insane 😂
  • I would not be suprised if they are waiting for the voice recording for Zootopia 2 to begin so they can get the actors to do the dialogue for the ride at the same time
  • @noleth
As a related note to the Dinoland closure, anyone else kinda really hate the replacement? Indiana Jones and Encanto both barely fit with each other and ESPECIALLY have nothing to do with the theme of Animal Kingdom.
  • @joeeeee256
Orrrr 5th option...what if they ARE gonna replace Tough to be a Bug first...and the Dinoland replacement doesn't even start for years still because it gets stuck in planning?

This was my favorite attraction to work at DCA, both this and Muppet Vision 3D. They were such chill and low stress environments.

It's tough to be a bug is a bit outdated and I understand if it gets replaced. But Zootopia? I don't know. Zootopia plays in a city and I don't think that it fits this park. I am also not sure if abandoning the dinosaur theme is the right call. Dinosaurs will always be somewhat popular with young boys. Well lets see how it plays out. Encanto was popular at the streaming service, but it underperformed at the theaters. But its only a small attraction from what I heard. Indiana Jones? I am skeptical. Indiana Jones 5 did badly at the theaters. Even worse than the fourth installment. The younger generation is disinterested in this ip. The public reception from the latest movie was mixed. I am not sure that investing in Indiana Jones is the wisest descision. If it was 20 years, then yes. But to open a Indiana Jones ride in the late 20s/early 30s is a bold decision.

No. It’s not closing. Let them forget about it. Don’t bring it up. It’s tough to be a bug forever
  • Should it close? That's tough, because I can understand why people may not like it and how the 3d effects may be outdated, but like..... I also really can't forsee how anything replacing it would really be worth the money? Like, it fulfills a perfect role in AK with bugs and with the entire Tree of Life being constructed around it, I find it hard to think of something more fitting. Also, this ride is super unique in Disney's current lineup and if they could simply update the 3d effects and put some damn money into maintenance, I can see it sticking around comfortably! I personally love the chaos that this show brings and it's absolutely a good and scary bonding experience for the audience, haha! Funny memories

The problem is that AK not only needs new rides, it needs more rides. Disney's answer is to only address part of the problem and not the full problem. In my opinion, Hollywood studios and animal Kingdom are only a part day park, with only a couple of attractions in each park worth riding. So if you're going to do either, just get a park hopper for a day and do those handful of attractions and spend the rest of the day relaxing around the pool.

2:48 Hell, it should take them LESS than a year, cause the Country Bears got a full refurb with entirely new animatronics, programming, and music in roughly 6-7 months. This Zootopia retheme should hypothetically take them like at most the same amount of time, given all they'd need to do is reprogram the lighting effects and add 1-2 new animatronics. You can even get the show animation all done before you even close down the current attraction!
  • @BrerOswald
Disney’s “grand plan” for the rest of the decade is a bunch of rethemes, a Coco Simulator in Frontierland, and a Moana boat ride in Adventureland. And this is after two decades of straight mid. There’s never been a worse time to be a Disney Parks fan.
  • @ThemePark_Nerdo
I wonder if Pixar themselves even has a say on if It’s Tough to be a Bug should remain open or shutter at all.
  • The Tree of Life should be a multi-theater building with multiple theaters to add capacity for different shows! One show I’d love to see come to one of the theaters inside the Tree of Life is a Lion King themed 3D movie featuring Rafiki, Simba, Nala, Timon, Pumbaa, and other characters and that movie idea should’ve come to fruition! This should be perfect to go along with the Zootopia and Bug’s Life shows!
  • I'm not really ecstatic about them getting rid of It's Tough to Be A Bug & Dinoland USA in favor of Zootopia & Tropical Americas. IMHO they should consider solutions that makes everyone happy: 1) Update It's Tough To Be A Bug with new animation, new segments that introduce other types of Bugs & have the segments in rotation (that way each show can be a different experience for guests) 2) If they want a Zootopia attraction, IMHO it would fit better in the Rafiki's Planet Watch section of the Park. If they're eventually planning to bring over the Zootopia land from Shaghai Disney, then a few potential construction sites are: -the free area located in between Pandora & Africa -the free area located behind Expedition Everest -the free area located between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch 3) Instead of getting rid of Dinoland USA, they should build the Tropical Americas in 1 of the 3 potential construction areas I've previously mentioned: -the free area located in between Pandora & Africa -the free area located behind Expedition Everest -the free area located between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch 4) Here's what they should be doing for Dinoland USA: -Build the Excavator Roller Coaster in the Boneyard Area -Replace Finding Nemo Musical with a Good Dinosaur Musical (From Dinoland, Expedition Everest could be seen as Clawtooth Mountain?) -Replace Dino-Rama with a (preferably Log Flume/Water-Based) attraction based on the Ice Age Franchise. If not Ice Age, then The Good Dinosaur might be a decent alternative? -Update the menu that improves the food for Restaurant-o-saurus -Expand the Cretaceous Trail to include enclosures for animals that are considered "Living Fossils" (Horseshoe Crab, Nautilus, Lungfish, Giant Salamander, Tuatara, Gharial, Seriema, Tree Shrew, etc.) -Update Dinosaur with a new pre-show/queue & update the animatronics (possibly giving them more up-to-date appearances) -Walk Around/Interactive encounters with Dinosaurs (Iguanodon, Pterosaurs, Segnosaurus, Baby Dinosaurs, Chasmosaurus, Protoceratops, etc.)
  • @Foxy02016
If Showbiz Pizza can become Chuck E Cheese in the span of a week, they can do the replacement in a week No need to have it closed while they create the animatronics and film, only when installing them
  • Bring back the Beastly Kingdom idea. They already have dragons within the park, at the ticket entrance in the ACTUAL logo. It would make more sense to the park!
  • @themolinas6
Is a phased closing/reconstruction of Dinoland not an option? Shuttering half of Dinoland for construction and creating a walkway to left hand side to Dinosaur, saving that section for last. Still have all of that area shut down for a certain amount of time, but for a considerably shorter amount.
