A number of years ago I was lucky enough to see an art exhibition called "Artistic Luxury" and featuring the works of Tiffany, Lalique, and Faberge. Most works were shown at the Paris Exhibition of 1900 and the focus was on the idea that, to the three firms, the design and artistry were more important than the materials and carat count. While not calling out direct comparison, there were examples of comparable works from other jewelers. For example, there were two examples of cigarette cases in the Louis XVI style. The Cartier version, while probably of higher carat weight, was not even in the same league as the Faberge. Some of the jewels and clothes were wearing the person, rather than the other way around.
  • Good documentary , alarming topic on the indecency of that kind of money . Our world is in deep trouble.
  • That gold cape with the citrine was beautiful. Reminds me of the beauty of Tutankhamen’s treasures.
  • I love the personal style of the lingerie designer and her lingerie is beautiful. ❤. And the lace factory was fascinating. Loved this segment.

What's impressive about the female valet attendant is that she's able to drive many different models which can be somewhat complicated to start and control - well done!

What I notice most is that to enjoy the luxury lifestyle you have to be thin. Extra thin.

When Natalia and her daughter were buying dresses it did make me laugh the way the tv presenter said that the sales assistant continues to take care of customer as a snack is served using silver serving tongs??? It was actually a cup of coffee with sugar in a bowl with sugar tongs so you can add your own sugar cubes with 2pieces of chocolate on the side of the tray but no snacks were ever served up to them using silver sugar tongs🤔🤥☕️😆😂🤣

A 10 euro tip for a valet?! It confirms my understanding that rich people are cheap AF!

Little does Natalia know the black dress with the feathers suited her the best she looked amazing in it,the other two not so sure

I hope they’re enjoying life because getting through it by shopping for pretty awful looking dresses and accessories, meeting powerful or famous people is boring and unfulfilling. You can get all you want and still be unsatisfied with life. Material possessions can only do so much. Find a higher calling and the Most High.

It’s a modern myth that Paris is still the fashion capital: it might be 100 years ago, it certainly isn’t now if you travelled there or lived there enough to see how the city really is.

I know I won’t be popular but I really like this documentary. I love the rich history of these fashion houses.
  • About 2 months ago I went to Paris, we actually landed in an amazing building all blue inside and had all the top designer brands, fabulous items probably no more pricey then in Australia. Goes to show you that you dont have to be❤ all beauties for the private viewings, we all love gorgeous clothes, jewellery etc but we all seem to think only the striking people wear it when gosh the most ordinary ones are the big buyers 😅
  • Why is the super chef just inspecting his brand new kitchen 24 hours before opening? Just shows us regular people that have to decide between essentials how skewed the world is. Once again makes me sad to be a human in a society that puts so much influence in afluence

I would hope that the U.S. Ambassador & her key American staff would highlight the excessive stress & extraordinarily LONG HOURS the Head Butler & their staff are REQUIRED to work for their Events! Yes, these Events are important, but everyone there should also understand that the ordinary people, here in the U.S. & in France, also want & need their time off to rest, sleep, & spent time with their families/friends & do the things they enjoy doing with their free time! I don’t think it’s their passion to be overworked & sleep deprived on a regular basis!!!! They are been taken advantage of - and just because the Ambassador says she appreciates the staff, that doesn’t mean their Labor Laws should be ignored!!!
