Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here:    • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.

We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)

So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.

Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.

4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!

After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)

We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our j

I'm not crying, you're crying. Adorable video Nate. Glad you made it.
  • @baritoner9985
In my opinion this is the most touching video you have ever made. There's so much to learn from the generations before us. The way you talk to each other, the love, the respect...all of it is so special! Thank you for sharing the story of you Pop - he's such a wonderful human being!
  • @dgeshay22
The wisdom that man possess is a gift. He was enjoying this trip 10x more than Nate. What an honor for Nate.

As a direct result of seeing this video, I called my 76-year-old mother and we are, right now, having an impromptu slumber party…on my 26-year-old daughter’s couch! 😊 Thank you so much Kara and Nate for reminding us all that it is not about how far we travel, where we stay or the mode of transportation we took to get there, what matters the most is the people, and the memories we make with those people along the journey!!!
  • Did we just watch young Nate go camping with his 88 year old self? So beautifully and magically surreal how alike Nate and Pop are in this video. Thanks for taking us along on this special adventure!

As a teacher I am always looking for ways to show short videos to 'entertain" the kids. This last week we had a half day meaning I only saw each group for 23 minutes. So I showed this video to my kids, and many of them thought it was amazing that your 88 pops would go camping with you. They also loved the van. Thank you for providing kids a demonstration of normal families live without electronics

Your grandpa is a true treasure. I’m glad you have him in your life.

This is my favorite Kara/Nate video of the year! Your grandfather is a breath of fresh air.😊

One of the most touching, meaningful episodes I think you've ever made. Our culture is desperate for more of Pop's wisdom and experiences. He's such a humble, wise man. Listen to him carefully.

This was the best video I have seen in a long while. Pop, you are a true gem. Nate, cherish that time with him. Kara, you too. My grandparents, grandpa just turned 94 and my Grammy turned 88 in February. Grammy just recently was diagnosed with alzheimer's and dementia. It's been hard on us, especially since my mom, their daughter passed away a year ago in October. I don't take a minute for granted with either of them. My Grammy may not always recognize me now, but she has filled my heart and childhood with wonderful memories. Just like you will have with Pop. Sorry for the ramble. This one hit me hard in the feels. Much love, Elisabeth

This is, hands down, one of the most wholesome and adorable videos I’ve ever watched. Thank you for sharing this with the viewers.

My grandma was my BEST friend before she passed. This has in tears and I'm not even 5 minutes in. When yall announced this one, I didn't realize how much it would heal the part of me that still misses her. Thank you for being so good to your Pop, Nate. You guys are so genuine and this shows why. Very glad to watch this one. ❤
  • @lynnbateson
Your first video of 2024 brought me to watch this episode and I'm glad it did. Your pop seems like a sweet, honest and humble man. Makes me miss mine. Great wonderful, heartfelt video❤❤❤
  • @myaduhon7207
I recently lost my grandfather in June, we live in Cookeville just down from Burgess Falls. This video was so special and healing for me. I wish I would’ve asked him so much more about his life. I will cherish this video forever. I’m glad you shared this amazing moment in life with us. ❤ I love Pop.
  • My Mom is 81 yrs old and she is addicted to your videos. She says she gets to see places and meet people she will never have the chance to see herself. Thank you for all the great content. Keep up the good work.
  • @darlahardy3386
When Pop said don't let other people squeeze you into their mold, the tears fell down my face. I am 74 years old and am just now really grasping how much of my life trying to be what "somebody else" thought I should be. I have in the last few weeks started to learn I just need to be me and that is so exciting.
  • @LoTy1720
Nate, your end of year video brought me here. Both of my grandfathers had passed on long before I was born, so I was never blessed with an opportunity like this. My father passed on when I was 19. We were very close, but not as much those last couple of years. My father-in-law passed on when our first child was only 3, long before our second child, so they really have not had their grandfathers. This is a video you should be very proud of. While thinking how much I wished I had that opportunity, or that my dad was still alive for a similar opportunity, I found myself smiling the whole time. Cherish that time. Pop is a good guy. Fantastic video.

I loved his answer about whether you should have children or not, it removes some of that family pressure knowing that no matter what even though some people will have their preference, they will support you in whatever you choose because they trust you to make the right decisions for yourselves ❤
