Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here:    • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.

We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)

So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.

Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.

4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time.

After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)

We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our j

46 minutes of kara and nate feels like a christmas present

You truly have brought a National Geographic magazine alive. The amount of cultural respect and enrichment you brought to this episode has truly been magical.
  • Mama’s laugh is so comforting and just seeing how happy kara was with her is so heart warming because they “barely” know each other and they just connected instantly it’s awesome and amazing too see💓💓
  • I LOVE just how versatile Kara and Nate are!! Literally going from first class seats on an airplane to sleeping on hardwood floors in the most remote places😍

One of the things that I always see in the videos is that Nate ALWAYS, it doesn't matter where they are, always tries to make coffee for Kara, I think during their stay in an island surviving in the middle of the ocean he still tried to make coffee. I aspire to be as Nate one day.

This is why Kara and Nate make such amazing videos, one week they can be eating caviar on a plane and the next eating live grubs in the jungle. The best part is they are up for any and all challenges and are so happy and interested in learning and teaching us about other cultures. Thank you!🙏❤️
  • I LOVE SALOMO!! This is probably one of my favorite videos you guys have ever posted. The kindness and hospitality shown from these people is incredible. I really love this and love you guys!❤
  • I Love momma, her smiles just warmed my heart. Thank you for always stepping out of your comfort zone and showing the world around us.

Living out here in the Mentawai Islands, we know the struggles indigenous Mentawai people go through to keep their traditional way of living. Many young people here have forgotten why their ancestral knowledge is important and worth preserving. But your video perfectly showed the value of traditional life and hopefully it helps the locals (and especially the younger generation) to see that too! What a beautiful and inspiring video you guys made!

In an era where polarization is at an insane level, you manage to display human connection across cultures. Respectfully and beautifully filmed. Grateful that you make this content and grateful the Mentawai were so generous to invite you into their home and lives for a few days.

You’ve posted some amazing videos over the years, but this has to be by far, one of the most heart warming and wholesome videos you’ve posted (with your Lake Titicaca coming in a strong second) ❤

The way Kara and Nate were able to almost step back into time and give an insight into how tribes lived 2,000 years ago and still today is amazing! They're a couple who live in the 21st century who are extremely tech-savvy, yet they were able to create a refreshing, eye-opening yet educational vlog! I'm always excited when Kara and Nate post a video as I have been watching since 2018 and their videos are so different from any other travel youtubers I watch. Well done and keep up the good work! Can't wait to see where you guys go next!

Love it, I'm from Aotearoa (New Zealand) and our Tupuna (Ancestors) lived like this but we live our lives as a western society generation but the hard labour and living off the land makes me appreciate what they did for us to live a easy life. We still instill our traditional lifestyle but as a western society. This is amazing. We call them huhu grubs in Aotearoa and they taste like peanut butter
  • @irenabe973
I am so proud that the two of you represented the USA in such a loving and respectful way. Thank you! This was so fun!
  • I literally teared up when Salomo dressed Nate in the traditional clothing (after cracking up at Nate’s reaction to the loin cloth, of course 😂) What a special experience, and thank you for sharing it!
  • Wow guys, glad you made it out there too! Hope you enjoyed your trip as much as we did ❤️
  • @ThaisOMalley
Mama is Kara’s soulmate of the jungle. The way they both speak in a music harmony way is super cute!
