Wow! Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Lena Horne, Dorothy Dandridge, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Ma Rainy, and the list goes on and on.....so beautiful to watch😢. Wonderful to watch beautiful, talented brown women making history all the way to Aretha Franklin, Vanessa Williams, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Debbie Allen, ect...Legends!!!!!!!

Oh sure, when Josephine dances it's called classic but when I do it it's a seizure! But seriously thanks for putting this up. So much talent & history that needs to be remembered. Some of my best memories were my grandma playing me some of Billie Holiday's music when I was just a tiny kid.

At last! I have been looking for this documentary for year. Thank you blackreel because this is one of best documentaries on black female entertainers ever. Had this bootlegged on VHS but it broke and it never appeared on DVD. Love it

👑❤️👑This was so great!!! I have read about/seen documentaries about a few of these Queens. I was looking forward to seeing Roberts Flack, Mahalia Jackson, Mini Riperton, & many others. ⭐But maybe there will be an updated version, starting with many that weren't mentioned. Thankful for the few I learned of, and never heard of before.
