I saw this movie when I was eight(1978) 9 O'clock tv special. I cried and never forgot how much the movie moved me as a child. I saw the movie in the video store a couple years ago and I figured it would be cool to watch again after 30 years. Well I cried again. I guess some things never change no matter how old you are and how much time has passed.

saw this in the theatre in '72 in Pico Rivera Ca. as an 8-year-old and, like so many other 7 and 8 year olds, was deeply touched by this movie. Now we're all almost 60 and let's all be honest, we never really got over this movie

so many 50-somethings walking around (like me) who saw this in the theatres in 1972 as 7 and 8-year-olds and never got over it. if this movie doesn't grip you, you can never understand us

This movie touched me in a way no other film did. As I child I watched it mesmerized.. Now am old,pottering around my house and garden alone but not alone too.. The music and film ,kind of play on in my head.

you cant watch this flim without thinking ohps we are buggered. i to watched and cryed as a child still brings lump to throat at aged 47 revolutions around the sun.

Im 62 years old and have loved music ever since I could remember listening to it, and I tell you I have never heard a voice as pure in its measure as that belonging to this woman.

My best film of all time!!..bar none! Bruce Dern is an excellent actor!

Joans singing is heart warming, yes it dates the film but in a charming way. I would not have done it any different.
