Sarah Jane Weaver
Executive Editor of the Church News of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Brigham Young University–Hawaii Devotional (February 20, 2024)

Sara Jane Weaver gives a beautiful devotional drawing parallels between life's experiences and the biblical story of Peter walking on water toward Jesus. Like Peter, we experience doubts and challenges that sway us from our faith in the Lord. However, she encourages listeners to let God prevail in their lives and seek divine guidance through prayer, service, and compassion. We can overcome doubt and believe in God's ability to see, save, and provide miracles.

"Sometimes our faith stops the rain. Most often, however, our faith gives us the power to endure the storm." -Sarah Jane Weaver

Your talk was a miracle for me this morning. When I woke up i prayed that Heavenly Father would please guide my footsteps and help me find my way. I am recently divorced after 43 years of being married to a man with serious substance abuse issues. After I prayed, I looked on Utube as I usually do searching for uplifting talks from General Conference or BYU devotionals. Your message is exactly what I needed to hear. I’m so thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and have seen so many miracles in my life. Your talk was heaven sent for me today, Thank you-💕
  • This is the best talk I've heard in so long, and was relatable to me on so many levels. I've been the girl who asked the last question of President Nelson, the caregiver in the care centre, the forgotten 12 year old. I've been the mom praying for a child in trouble at an airport overseas. I've been the recipient of miracles. Does God see me? This talk showed me once again that YES! He does!

While eating my lunch I thought I'd watch something fun on YouTube, but out of the many things that popped up I chose this devotional and it fulfilled the prophecy in Lehi's Dream by providing me with "the most sweet fruit" and was "most desirable to make one happy." Tears of joy filled my eyes 4 or 5 times, something I know would not happen while watching entertaining content. I have been trying to yoke myself to the Savior via my covenants, and something about the first great commandment to love God with ALL...made me choose the devotional instead of entertainment. And I found that God wanted to give me SO much more than if I chose my way. My way is like cotton candy. His Way is most sweet, most desirable to make one happy, and makes the world pale by comparison.

Incredible talk! Thank you! After over 10 years of so much adversity in and on our family, God has prevailed. I credit covenant-keeping for this miracle. Thank you!

I love this talk, I asked God to please let me see some of the miracles happening in todays world. I believe they are happening, maybe more than ever. I asked not because it would change my belief, but because I want to glory in God's good works. Then out of nowhere my wife sends me this video, and I see the very thing I had asked for. If you need miracles, then just simply look for all of the "coincidences" going on in the world today. For example In the very day prophesied of from centuries ago when the hearts of men would fail them, we have a heart surgeon for a prophet. Now that is quite the coincidence, but what if that man were to be espoused to a mental health counselor, in the day when mental disorders define the landscape of the human race. That would be quite the coincidence! It is a miracle! Or perhaps when the world is in chaos after the nations fall, it would be quite a coincidence if the prophet were a constitutional attorney, and could assist in restructuring government. Oh wait that coincidence hasn't happened yet, but wow would that be cool.
