Easy no special equipment needed method! This is the freshest green you can get, and they are grown in your loving care! This simple method can give you salad options all year without the environmental cost of harvesting, packing in plastic, and shipping across the country in refrigerated, energy exhaustive vehicles to then continued to be stored in refrigerators on some grocery store until it finally gets home to you! Phew - how about them sprouts now?!

This was more helpful than any other sunflower seed micorgreen video I've found thus far for indoor growing. THANK YOU!
  • @MollieFreeman
This is the best sunflower sprout explanation I’ve seen. Thank you for finally making it clear and simple!

I don't say this often, but your video was clear and concise and went through the process in a very understandable and down to earth way. Good job and keep it up. :)
  • Finally! Someone who knows how to do this the right way! I've been wanting to do this for over 6 months, but everyone's method is too complicated or too expensive or too messy. This is clean, neat, and perfect. Thanks a million!

This gal is a great teacher... really enjoyed the video... so helpful. Her explanation of the 2 plates on top of each other was great..... something wondered about since first hearing to do that... she made it so logical. Thank you!

Awesome to hear that they are growing so nicely!! I agree, it does feel sad to eat them when you go through all the work to watch them grow up... but it also so rewarding to get involved and re-connect with the process of growing food. Cheers!

Oh, by the way. I totally agree with Lindy; you are instantly likable. You would be very successful at the Youtube video genre. Make some more!

This is the BEST video on youtube about growing sunflower sprouts. This is my first time and all the others were so CONFUSING. Thank you for making it simple!

you make science seem fun, i sprout mine in a jar for a day, hopefully that wont interfere with the growing phase too much, organic produce is so expensive, glad i have a cheap affordable way to get my nutrition.

I wish I had found this video before I went and purchased my six plastic sprouting tray kits. 🙄 Well-done video. Thank you!
  • Hey thanks... I like the glass pie plate idea. I would't have thought to use the oiled black sunflower seeds either. I LOVE sunflower seeds sprouts. My new fave salad is a pea seed sprouts with sunflower sprouts, nuts, avocado, artichoke hearts, tomato, lemon and vinegar

@ParadiseWellnessPR Yes, you do need the soil for sprouting "sunflower greens" using sunflower seeds "in-shell". However, if you want to sprout raw, shelled sunflower seeds so they are easier to digest; those can be done using a jar sprouting method (as in my Sprouting Legumes) video. With this method, using soil provides the stimuli needed for an actual 'green shoot' to form and allows the roots to take hold. As always, experiment experiment - see what works! SO much fun.
  • Wonderful video; clear instructions, nice that you staged it for us and that you used glass.  Will begin today!  By the way, you are a delight!

This is the best explanation and easy method for growing sunflower greens. Thanks so much for all the details.
  • Honestly I just put soil in a shallow pot, threw on some regular sunflower seeds without even soaking and within a week they had leaves and were almost ready to harvest. So easy!
