Why did our government think it was a good idea to pay the tenant instead of the landlord directly? I just can't figure that out.
  • Pay your rent. Turn off the cable, stop smoking, stop ordering pizza, use a cheap phone. Pay rent first.
  • No one owes you anything. Pay your rent ! This is why landlords hike the rent and why they stop renting their properties.

The Federal Government, State and Local Governments have continued to fail small landlords. Tenants have felt entitled, empowered to be deadbeats.

Tenants who take advantage of the system are the worst. I don’t feel bad those who are evicted

2 years no rent payments .... really people have no self respect anymore .. good grief at least make an effort or pay half anything SMH

I don't have to pay rent is the attitude many people had. A landlord having to file bankruptcy to keep HIS property is disgraceful. No rent collection for 2 years just not right.. Our leadership in Washington DC gets a -F.

It's about time that landlords get to take their property back get them bums out your house
  • @Once800-
    I understand the landlords feelings.
  • Pay your damned rent! Nobody owes you! Landlords: Make sure that your tenants are responsible for all utilities.

People got those stimulus checks & most the people was buying crabs. Smh

The landlords need to get a judgement against the tenants and destroy the tenants credit rating.

What really shocks me about the entire fiasco with the COVID rent eviction moratoriums is that cities/states continued to assess taxes... Yet we supplied all this money for tenants to be able to stay in their homes, for which there seems to be hardly any accounting of and now we have inflation on everything. I see it for myself, government is just plain stupid

Hiring a professional property manager will cost more than 10% more so rent price goes up. Having a unit occupied by non-payers while a line of potential renters wait increases the market price. Having to borrow more money to prevent foreclosure makes the price go up. Getting stuck with a $6,000 water bill is gonna raise rent prices. So basically Cancel Rent means higher rent for everyone else in the neighborhood.

Why the government didn’t realize what this would do to landlords is beyond me. People thought that meant that they don’t have to pay rent and were 100% wrong. If you signed a lease you are obligated to pay the full amount of the lease. Nothing is free in this world.

Hope this goes onto the deadbeats records so other landlords are aware. They will do it again if given another place.

I can't believe people living the place without paying rent for 2 years. I feel bad for lthese andlords.
  • Who do people think they are? Bums expecting someone else to take care of them. No wonder rent is going up so much, plus harder to get in after what people did. I don’t blame the landlords at all
  • Yaaaaaa good job put them out and never allow this to happen in your property again. 👏

How do these "people" destroy properties in such a short time? My apartment was built in early 70s and I've been here my whole life, and it's in fantastic condition. Because I keep it up.
