The lines of the P99 are amazing. Truely iconic. Something that was lost on the PDP. As was the paddle mag release. Paddle releases are seriously underrated.

Misha I,m SO pissed off at Walther! First there discontinuing The p99AS! Secondly NOT offering the PPK in .32 ACP!

I don't have a full size P99 AS because I wanted to able to more easily to carry concealed. Therefore I got the P99C AS in 9mm. Its been a wonderful sidearm and 100% reliable. I generally describe it as a "classy pistol. While Glocks and SIGs are perfectly functional, the P99's lines, profile and features project class. Its ergonomic grip, its paddle magazine release, and its innovative striker decocker button set it apart from the other polymer handguns, set it a bit...above.

Hi Misha, hope you're doing well! My FFL got two of these in and offered one to me. The unique trigger mechanism really caught my attention and I love paddle mag releases. Needless to say I added it to my collection because I didn't have an example of a P99 in any configuration. Definitely agree with your sentiments about the the case. The plastic box is nice and rugged, but the foam is bad. It really needs to be softer. I'd also like to see a 3rd mag included and a better solution than just throwing the spare parts in the bottom of the case.
  • I hope the AS trigger at least becomes an option for the Walther PDP, or maybe the next generation of Walther pistols.

I like the final edition best cause the rail on it

I bought the Final Edition last year and love it. I also own a compact PDP, and between the 2, I would still carry the P99 over the PDP, just because of the trigger. I'm more comfortable with the long double action trigger for carry.
  • I've grown to appreciate the P99 Final Edition from hrfunk's videos. He has such enthusiasm for it from decades of experience and took time to go over the idiosyncrasies of the trigger/decocker and how he used it back in the day. That subcompact p99 you showed is a more interesting piece. With your rifles you have the "sling transfer" to show which you are keeping. For pistols maybe a lanyard transfer? The keeper gets a lanyard. Just a thought.
  • I really enjoy my S&W 99 and that striker decocker feature. My SW99 is incredibly accurate too. I just need a rear sight spring and plunger replacement just in case I break or lose mine. I just couldn’t bring myself to spend the money on the P99 because for its price, there are better 9mm options.

I bought a final edition from earl in Pearisburg. I had always wanted one. I shot is some and liked it a lot. Like the fit and decocker especially. Since I would have had to start cherry picking it went with everything else in the collection. Made my money back+ a little. No regrets. The only one I purposely kept was 1st gen pps because I carry it. It's a great walther. Enjoyed the video.

I love the P99 platform, I have the full size and compact and QA, I've never seen a QA compact for sale and would buy one if I ever find one.
  • @Scott079
I want one of these cause I collect green guns. That’s kind of like my big thing, but I can’t justify the price on these, especially for a gun that borderline does not fit my hand.
  • @zdub8438
I wanted one bad. Then I found a gen2 .40 for $450. Glad I grabbed it instead. A brass coin is cool but a test target and fired case is much cooler IMO.
  • Hey Misha... I have question that's not germane to the topic of the video, but I put great weight in your thoughts in all things firearms... ... I was wondering if you have in the past or presently own a Ruger LCP Max 380 and your thoughts regarding it ? Or even your thoughts based on other premises ? Wishing you the best... Thanks and much peace, grace and love to you and yours, God bless brother

Maybe they’ll keep making them for the rest of the year til they run out of parts? Looks like 24 date code
