My husband told me that he loved me on our first date. I was scared 😱 😨 😳, so I didn't know how to respond. He introduced me to his parents the following month and he told his mother that I was going to be his wife. He was a soldier and he left for Iraq two months after we met. He asked me to wait on him to return, so I did. He proposed to me 5 months later and we tied the knot 3 months later. We just celebrated 15 years of marriage.

I actually met my husband, when I was 8 months pregnant! I was on the train in San Francisco back in 1981. The father of my unborn and I had already parted ways and he was stationed in Germany. To make a long story short, after having my daughter ( Kevin' man I met on train) his grandma by coincidence became my child care provider when I was attending UCSF. By then my daughter was 3 and I had never seen Kevin again, only random phone calls checking on me and my baby. One day, while I was picking up my daughter from child care at Miss Saunders house, and all of a sudden, I caught a glimpse of someone coming through her front door. Then I asked Miss Saunders, who is that, I think someone is in your house and she said, " oh that's probably my grandson" and I said I didn't know you had a grandson that lived here and she said "yes his name is Kevin" and I said Kevin? she instantly gave me the last name of the same Kevin that I met on the BART train almost 3 years prior, so her and I begin to talk and I said Ms Sanders that's the guy that I've been telling you about, but to be honest I could not remember his last name, until you said it. She said "oh my goodness, you must be the person that he's been telling me about for almost 3 years and saying that he met this really pretty pregnant and nice lady on the train and I'm going to marry her one day" Over the year's we had formed an amazing friendship and he became the father of 4 daughters, by two different women. Although neither of his relationships worked, he and I were always friends. So fast forward to 1999 he and I eloped when my daughter was 19. He and I have been married for 23 years and he always tells me how much he loves me and how much he needed me through life.. I was 39 and he was 35 the day we eloped, now I'm 62 and he's 58.... My daughter is 41 and my Stepdaughters are, 24 26, 30 and 33...what an awesome life, when stranger's cross paths

I met my husband at a party. He told me he love me after 30 minutes of talking to me. He then asked me to marry him 3 weeks later… fast forward 22 years later of being together and 19 years married, he’s a fantastic husband and father to our 3 beautiful children! I've been married to my baby for 25+ years... im soooo lucky cause he has ALWAYS been the man that has shown me TRUE love! Even being a young man, he has known how to handle me from the beginning....never had an issue with checking in (I'm on my way)

This was triggering. I had a long marriage with a lot of narcissistic manipulation. One thing I've learned. Is someone who truly loves you, is dedicated to understanding you. It's also extremely difficult to say the wrong thing to the right person. If you are making every attempt to communicate clearly with compassion and he's being oblivious....it's a huge red flag.
