By popular request, here is my full review of almost every pasta and pasta sauce they carry at the grocery store. It's really important that pasta is made from whole grains, because enriched wheat pasta has no nutrition and is a simple carbohydrate. Whole wheat and whole grain pastas are made from complex grains and are not only better for you but won;t spike your blood sugar nearly as much. Pasta sauces need to be made with real ingredients, have no added sugar, and use high quality oil, like extra virgin olive oil. Mad love Bobby...Dessi...and Art! XOXO

for those that do not have a trader joe's or whole foods within 2 hours distance, nor have a budget that can stand $5 pasta sauce, "Simply Ragu" is a good non organic option: no sugar, 100% olive oil, no preservatives--tomato, olive oil, salt onion, carrots, garlic. $1.89.

Love this channel. I pretend to shop along with them. As I am totally disabled, this is a delight for me even if I cannot afford much of what we look at.

What a nice genuine guy to go to the store and inform people on health, love seeing stuff like this.

Just buy a can of Italian tomatoes add garlic, mushrooms whatever is cheaper than the jarred stuff. Aldredo sauce is easy to make from scratch, no chemicals.
  • I’ve always got Rao’s stocked at home! And stock up the few times my local store has it on sale! It’s the best and definitely worth the price!
  • @carolreyes3737
I have used Rao’s sauce for a couple years now. I stumbled upon it just because I wanted a sauce with good flavor, so now it’s good to know I have select a good option. Thanks for all the great information, I am learning a lot.
  • You have been a Godsend on my new healthy, knowledgeable eating habits. I have slowly switched to different things. I have now changed out my regular pasta for chickpea pasta. 365's is okay but Tolerant is definitely a winner! Thanks for what you do.

Thank you both for your video. I’ve learned to read labels on everything I bought. All these years I’ve eaten and fed my children were wrong... Your sessions worth more than my college degree. Very educational.
  • Noone eats plain pasta. Its always consumed with oil, cheese or fatty sauces. So white flour pasta won't spike blood sugar levels as high as we think it would.

whole foods? you mean, whole paycheck.
  • @anetzband1383
You have certainly opened my eyes as to the sugar content with Ragu, Classic, and others. Little by little I'm going to work my way back into using only my own sauce (which I have done in the past). It was just too convenient and cheap to use the others--not realizing how bad they are.

So I’ve heard you hit on several ingredients in several videos to stay away from. Can you do a video of major no no ingredients to steer clear of when grocery shopping altogether? Like carrageenan, soy bean oil, etc. I’d love an all in one video. I never realized how much sugar is in Ragu! Crazy!

No review of whole grain pastas at Walmart; skipped organic tomato sauces. Trader Joe's or Whole Foods are not accessible in every town. 😔

How about a holiday baking edition? Pointing out the best flour, and sugar substitutes to use for cookies 🍪

I grew up in family where we only used homemade sauce. As I got older, I wanted to try store bought in jars to make things easier. I tried many of them, maybe 15 or so. The only one that tasted like homemade was the Victoria brand in marinara. I highly recommend that brand, especially if you are Italian and grew up eating homemade only.

love this! so glad to know these things! you're helping me change my life 💙 love the humor but most of all have learned to read labels better!!!
  • @SpiralBreeze
I’m Greek and Italian and therefore a pasta purist. The best tasting pasta is the Organic 365 from Whole Foods. I’ve tried the Banza, not bad really, but when it comes to texture and flavor you can’t beat the good stuff from WF. I only eat pasta about twice a month, so. I’m not worried about lack of nutrition, I’m filling my sauce with veg and beans so it doesn’t matter to me.

Being I’m home with Pericarditis at the moment. I have nothing but time to learn to change my lifestyle in food and dinning. I came across your channel and I must say thank you I can appreciate your channel. I’m a big Costco prego barilla pasta guy and now I will definitely being changing up my selection in choices. Again thanks for the video. You got a new subscriber for sure.

Did you hear me screaming at you to look at the Newman's own organic sauce at Walmart?. I was just wondering 🤗
