Hello, I'm from Brazil and in January I bought a Honda Sahara 300. Here in Brazil we don't have many options for trail bikes in this engine range. Even though it doesn't have a water-cooled engine and upside down suspensions, the Sahara 300 is a very well built motorcycle and a great option for those who want a versatile motorcycle that performs well on all types of terrain. Its conventional suspensions have long travel (240mm) with a package that favors agile chassis and an engine with good torque at low speeds and good performance on trips. Congratulations on your channel!

Motorcycle marketing is very odd. How many motorcycle riders are riding the Dakar? Kove and KTM sell 450 Dakar bikes. How many of us have been begging for a lightweight off road oriented 450 cc ADV bike with enough power for the occasional highway use and a large fuel capacity? We've been told to pound sand for decades.

Honda 300? The title snagged me instantly

i would love that new honda 300. i had to look up the XRE and why honda doesnt sell this outside of south america ill never understand... its a modern xr street legal bike with spoked wheels and good suspension. exhaust doesnt go under the friggin engine either.... honda needs to sell this in other parts of the world!

I am not a rider of smaller capacity bikes but it is astounding that the bigger brands (KTM, Yamaha, Honda) have been beaten by the Chinese manufacturers in bringing rally style, affordable 450cc bikes to market. Thanks for your great content Solid👍

I like the arrangement of the 300 Sahara and think it would probably be a better fit here in the U.S. than the CRF300 Rally. It would be a direct competitor to the Royal Enfield Himalayan, and a low-tech and cheaper alternative to bikes the Versys-X 300 or BMW's G310 GS. But I'm a huge fan of the simplicity of an air-cooled engine and still miss the old air-cooled dual-sport and trail bikes of the 80's, 90's and early 00's. If Honda would come out with an air-cooled CRF400 with electric start (basically the old EX400 quad engine minus the reverse gear) I'd be first in line to buy one. Those old 350-400cc air-cooled dual-sport and trail bikes like the XR400, DR350 SE, XT350, etc. of the 1990's were just super good bikes which is why nice clean examples still fetch a premium price in todays used market. Unfortunately now those bikes are at the age where many OEM parts are getting extremely difficult to find.

224 kg dry has to be the heaviest "middle weight". The 1290 SAR is 221 kg and no one would ever call it a middle weight.

The Yammie gear shift sounds like a winner for me. I have some issues with my left foot and ankle and this would be a game changer for me both on and off road. Bring it on!
  • I'd love a Sahara 300 in USA... Sounds like a great alternative to the 300L Rally for someone who wants low HP, 80-90% street all-rounder.

Yamaha YESSSSS more automatic / semi-automatic gearboxes is a GREAT thing. I already have an order for MT450 in which I will thoroughly enjoy riding, but if Tenere 700 semi-auto (no clutch) comes out, I'm buying one!
  • @kadiocalc
Good on ya mate glad to see your fit, healthy and kicking goals with your videos. Regards from Brisbane

My man, please don't call that MV a middleweight, even if it's their marketing that names it so. It's a heavyweight. No doubt about it. Call a spade a spade and stay true 🤙

Yamaha has used a similar system for years on the FJ1300 ST motorcycle. Worked great just different having a button instead of clutch lever. I've used it now for over 20 years on my Honda Rincon atv. No issues. Full manual push button with with automatic over ride or total auto. China don't care junk from our experience as of late. MV, crowded field for big ADV bikes and expensive.
  • Not a lot there for me this week Solid to be honest, however the Safari 300 might be a good seller as a intro bike if it ever came to Australia.
  • @MrAST834
could you make an update in the new beta alp 4.0? It just released!
  • @billcotton1551
My local dealership just added MV Augusta. Can't wait to see some of their bikes. Glad you seem to be feeling better, Solid!
  • @RatsnRods
I would love a sahara 300, it would be perfect for getting around the desert in california!

The KTM is a toy for the rich or dedicated racer. Interesting to see the CF Moto 1250. Doesnt shock me, looks great. As im on line to get the 450. Suites my riding and my size very well. With the CRF300L we already have here in the states, that 300 might not do well. But does give an option to those looking for something like that. Similar to a Versys 300.
  • @josech
Middle weight category or middle displacement? A 230+ kg bike is not a middle anything in my head, anyway.
