The chip shortage really concerns me. The cost has pretty much doubled and they were out of stock at Tesco last time I ordered.

Glad you gave the Kona some love š
-
My Kona always gets 300+ even on the motorway when i set the adaptive cruise control on at 70mph

Been watching the prices closely and agree with your summary. Picking up a 2019 Model 3 Performance tomorrow. Excited! š

I completely agree with your analysis. At the end of May I purchased a 3 year old Tesla Model 3 Performance for roughly 60% of its original purchase price and it drives and looks like new with no battery degradation that I can find. However, more remarkable, is that I've just sold back to BMW the BMW I've owned for the past 40 months, for Ā£1450 less than I paid for it. Now that's what I call low depreciation! In my case, the "cost to change" to EV seems to have worked in my favour.

Bought a 2020 egolf for the wife - she loves it. Does a week commute and charge at the weekend whihc is perfect. Traded in a 2018 polo automatic + 2k - great value

Great video, nice to see prices settling down. My head says Kona but ā¤ says I3S!
-
This is exactly what Iāve noticed which is why Iāve an appointment Monday to test drive a BMW i3 & a Hyundai Kona also going to look at the rest of the stock that the ev specialist dealer has in stock, thanks for all the info Iāve gleaned from your channel during the last couple of years, entertaining and valuable content. Cheers fella š

I needed this...thanks for making it...

Surprised no mention of the Hyundai Ioniq 38kWh. In Feb I got the top spec Premium SE, 20 plate, 39K miles. Gets 5-5.5mi/kWh, easily over 200 miles of range in the warmer weather..... all for Ā£18k. Good size car, well equipped plus 5 year transferable warranty. Also for similar money you can get the MG5 too, yes it lacks an app for remote control/preconditioning and the infotainment is terrible, but it does have an 8 year warranty. If you stretch for the larger battery then you'll easily get over 200 miles range

Great roundup, I currently have an id3 on a company lease scheme through tusker. Got about a year left, but their lease prices have shot up, makes the second hand market look more attractive again.
-
3 year old iPace with less than 50k miles are now sub Ā£25k seems like a great used buy also
-
Thanks Andy good video get my kona delivered on Friday looking forward to it

Not been a fan of EVs until recently when considering ādownsizingā current Volvo. As we have a solar/battery system recently installed and changed to š it does seem a no brainier. Seem to be looking at pre-loved Tesla 3 as cannot afford new anything these days, so took comfort from your comments on them as an owner, thank you for your listingā¦ šš»

I bought a Hyundai Kona 71 reg Premium facelift model 17 months old 2 months ago. It was from my local Hyundai dealer and cost just under Ā£23,000. I love the car, the quality and the drivability. Many of the reviews criticised the front wheel spinning when pulling away. I use mine in eco mode which gives a lovely smooth take off, and I am averaging 4.7 miles/kwh. I have the OVO overnight rate for cheaper charging at home which costs 10p per kWh. So the approximate cost of 10 to 80% (roughly 50 kWh) is Ā£5. Not bad for over 200 miles range. I know I won't get the same economy on motorway runs or in the winter, but it will still be an economical car to run. What's not to like!

Is there a way of checking battery condition at the individual cell level?
-
Great content as ever..really enjoy watching your videos. Just wondered if you know what has happened with Mr EV Andrew Till. He seems to have gone silent for a while now?
-
I really like your no nonsense approach. Thanks
-
Any thoughts on the Mustang? Starting to see more of these about now.

Good points - six months ago I was a bit concerned that I'd wasted a lot of money on my leased Honda e, as it hadn't depreciated much. Today it's pretty much where you'd expect it to be and matches the lease calculations. Now have a big spreadsheet as I work out what to do next - we do a fair number of long trips in a loaded up ICE estate and the EV infrastructure isn't quite there for that yet. Leafs are a definite bargain if you can charge at home.
