I would absolutely love a more in depth look at each of these Defect facets, I just keep on losing on this class.

The problem with Claw is that it's only really good in smaller decks, especially in multiples. If you're doing that you kind of really need to go for it. I've won some runs spectacularly with Claw, but it only works if you commit (and it definitely doesn't work all the time) The downside there is that you have no guarantee that you'll get there. It's one of those things that isn't great if you want to win consistently but when it works it's a lot of fun.

I think another thing with orb channeling cards is that they scale naturally, as, once you got your wheel full they start evoking orbs on top of channeling a new one. So that 6 damage 2 block, is now suddenly a 6 damage 5 block if you can evoke the frost orb. Or a 14 damage 2 block if you evoke a lightning orb with it, which is quite strong for the energy. And that without needing any other type cards than just any type of channeling orb cards.

Nice vid! Agreed that claw is a very underwhelming card. Looking forward to hearing more of your thoughts on specific cards!
  • Really appreciate the video, this is exactly what I needed because Defect is the only class I'm having a hard time figuring out how to evaluate and play. Although, your audio levels are all over the place in this video! It's kind of hard to listen to because it's so loud when you lean in and so quiet when you lean back.

I see the defect as a combo based character. Some of the dailys that give you a 50 card deck turn into card draw and search fests into aggregate, double energy and whatever X cost card I put into the deck to kill.

How do you feel about melter? I have found it to be really nice. It's pretty common for it to be dealing 20+ damage for 1 energy. dealing 70 damage to those little baseballs and catching thieves before they escape with it are really satisfying experiences heh.
  • Can you do these for Ironclad and Silent? The overexplained vids are neat, but a bit meandering to act as good guides
  • @Kceam
I always play a lot of power cards as defect! This can lead to amazing orb rotation after every turn!
  • @cookies23z
I really like glass cannon builds (if you get a nice start) and I usually dislike too much block at a time, so its pretty interesting to hear your thoughts on block (especially with frost orbs)
  • @gkeuler
How good is Reprogram? I value this pretty highly as a 1 of.... is this as good as card draw?
  • @scavazzi4155
I honestly don't dislike blizzard and claw. Sometimes i happen to have a deck that goes on full turtle mode and those cards can help dealing damage. Of course there are many other ways to solve this problem like channeling dark or lightning but if you have a lot of cycling and don't get other good damage sources those cards may work just fine.

I really like when guides are not expining something too much in depth, just show up a general direction. Because for me the most fun I have is when I can figure out how to get better. Usually when I figured out everything about a game or when I hit a roadblock too harsh to overcome I quit to another game.
  • You should do a review video of twitchChat, you could go over the chat logs for a run and critique helpfulness, sarcasm, humor, copy-pasta, emotes, and bot commands.

Thanks for giving amazing instruction of the defect! I told you about translation works in Korean recently and I'm going to do this VOD as well. the title of this VOD, however, isn't understandable for me to get its meaning. For me, 'Crash-Course' sounds like 'broken' or 'need to be corrected'. But I'm sure those are not your intention :( Could you tell me exact meaning of the title? It helps me a lot to translating works.
