Exactly, when I started convincing myself 'why I could' do the job and not why I couldn't, I started making connections as to why my experience was relevant, which in turn has given me the confidence to apply.

I was just telling my sister yesterday that I want to practice being more delusional. Delusional people seem to have a better life lol.

Since I started being delulu about my own skills and achievements, some people started being jealous of me even though I wasn’t achieving that much. I just realized that I was faking it while I was making it, and people around me actually believed that I’m better/more competent than them. It’s crazy

when you said "Being delulu about you you" I subscribed 😂

I love to paint, and thought I'll share it online when I'm good enough, yet i saw artist on the same caliber as mine proudly show their artwork, and sell it at prices that got me choke on m coffee... and I asked myself, "What do they have that I don't? I can paint that! And I hit me, they believe in themselves enough to proudly share it. So I'm starting to be delulu, and sure enough, I had commissions requests, and I am loving it! I still have to work on my skills, but I decided not to wait to be "there" cause I might never get there if I don't push myself!

In many ways, this also explains high school clicks. The queen bee is also delusionally confident they are all that. Everyone is drawn to them, even if you hate them.

Me going delulu: I’m going to be a successful writer and filmmaker. My goals to become that I am working towards has zero impact or anything to do with my current job. The toxicity in my workplace is bombarded by those with unchecked egos. I have coping skills to skate through each shift, however, my patience is running thin as of late. Am in a good place now, which has a potential to make my writing and filmmaking process full time. In the meantime, I will continue to project positive energy throughout my work day, knowing that my days to work on making my dreams come true are nearer.
  • Break every big goal into 10 small steps. Only look at the step that is next. Can you do this one step? Yes!

I used to be delulu. Coming from a middle income family and a poor country, I used to believe I could travel the world. Not even being the best student, I got 2 scholarships (one at 16 and other at 18) and I was able to travel to Europe and Asia. Somewhat in some stage of my life i became the total opposite. I'm not negative but I'm "realistic". I believe that the risk of having that much self-confidence is that when you start to fail, you fall to the conclusion that everything you tought about yourself was wrong and you were wrong to dream above your expectations. That you must not dream too high because you fall harder. I know this is not a good mentality, but it's so hard to get out of there! Especially when your material situation tells you the opposite 😢

You just convinced me to apply for a position I had sort of given up on. There’s no reason for me to give up, really. I have what I need to be hired. I’m going to just do it
  • @Hamyhamster24
She’s very right. I was super dululu during covid and basically made an 180 on my career. Turns out I’m good at this new thing and loves it. That said, if I wasn’t delulu…I’d probably stay put at my old job with no growth lol
  • @eml3077
This is hard to unpack like I have low self esteem and deep self hatred it's hard to be successful when I actually have a really great job. I struggle so much and it has a lot to do with my confidence. I really needed to see this
  • @JaCaraKM
I have been a delulu type person for a couple of decades now. I agree with everything you said about having self belief and then working towards your goals with all the self confidence and vision of your better self. I have achieved great things with this and hope to continue to achieve more of my goals and dreams. Right now I am delulu that I will be a successful, well paid artist and content creator. Is this my current reality? No, but I can see it and feel it and believe it will happen. You can call me delusional but I don’t care. I believe the universe has my back and that I can achieve almost anything I want. It is a happier way to exist.

Good Morning Jennifer ! All my life , when I have had success I have visualized it. I might not actually have a ton of actual self confidence but I project it amongst my peers at work or & in general interactions. I try to be prepared to deal with calmly & firmly any situation. That preparation comes in handy. Have a wonderful day !
  • @jec2143
I subscribed just bc of this video! Delulu all 2024

I have understood this concept for a long time, but my biggest question is...how can one achieve this and still keep their integrity, honesty, and morals? If you are dishonest with yourself, you will also be that way with others. Believing I'm yourself is one thing, but to get lost in delusion is another. It will bleed into your personal life, and not create true happiness. My ex was delusionally confident, and everyone would believe his lies because of how confidently he said them. He was great at sales, but avoidant in reality and our relationship. I left him because he couldn't be real with me anymore or himself, and ultimately got lost in the delusions he told himself.
  • @Rayowag
Dreaming big, not judging the part of you that dreams big, while counting your blessings in the present. Hard combo to stay on track with, but it does improve outlook on life. I always find it helpful to write down what success means to me every year or so, because that definition can change a lot too.

I work for my self as an artist and lately I had been in a bit of a rut. I watched this video and it inspired me to start filling out grant and residency applications to give me more opportunities for growth. As a traditional artist I need to be more delusional. Thanks!
