The funny thing is that I never knew that this thing existed

I think it's google's fault for trying to have a product for EVERYTHING. If people want to listen to podcasts, they use YouTube or Spotify in most cases. If people want to WATCH PODCASTS, THEY USE YOUTUBE. If they're not gonna provide any value over already existing and used/preferred services, then nobody's gonna use it.

i didnt even know google podcasts even existed lmao
-
Google killing every product is literally the funniest shit I've ever heard.
-
Google Graveyard "This will make a fine addition to my collection
-
The fact that google hadn't even advertised this product is an answer to why it shutdown.
-
It's funny bc I have never seen a single ad for any of these products, it's like they wanted them to fail
-
I love how google plus was kept alive by the rp community
-
Google trying "not to make an useless App that is already created by someone else and that is way better" challenge (Level Impossible)
-
i think that this graveyard only gives them more patents and restricts the ability of others to create
-
This is why I never use any Google app that’s not YouTube or Gmail. All other Google apps are never reliable.
-
The funny thing is that people don’t use the products because they might get killed off,but then become the reason it gets killed off because they aren’t using it.
-
Google will literally shut anything down no matter how important it is
-
Google: Makes a product. Also Google: Literally has a visible history of their near 300 different products they have axed. Also also Google: Does NO MARKETING WHATSOEVER for said new product. The product: Doesn't get used. Google: I don't wanna play with you anymore.

Google can't make a Laptop, can't make a Game Console, and they CAN'T MAKE A simple podcast.
-
and nothing of value was lost
-
we have so many podcast services from Spotify,Youtube and more. So I'm glad this is gone now because I didn't even know this was even a thing.
-
They fail because no one ever hears of them. Most software comes preinstalled and never explained or incentivised to used. I don't know about most of these products and therefore can't miss them.

i used the app like 3 years ago, but then switched to another podcast client that allows the functions like downloading episodes or creating playlists and more ontop like a Rating and comment system. they simply got outcompetet by one guy making a tool that is far superior then anything they did, minus the DRM and ads they randomly added in. so yea its good that its dead because they didnt even bother to put any effort in maintaining or improving it

It's almost like the public doesn't want one super corporation to operate literally everything in their lives
