Why isnt anyone talking about how the ENTIRE album was recorded in 1 day...its unbelievably well made in that respect
  • @colinkeane9070
I think I speak for everyone when I say we r all glad ur ok man
  • @eliabe702
They started recording strawberry fields/sgt pepper's less than 4 years after this debut. This baby was born walking and talking
  • @lorikisiel9367
Paul began writing "Love Me Do" when he was a 16-year-old kid!
  • @anarcovision
That's John singing on Anna. And Chains is actually a cover of a black quartet as you suspected. There's a lot of covers in these first albums. Actually Anna is a cover of Arthur Alexander. Half of the tracks here are covers. First George composition is on the next album. And I don't know if you are aware of this fact, but this was recorded live (live in the studio)in one day session, then George Martin came back other day and added the little Misery piano and a little celesta on Baby its you and that was it.
  • @timbaker6540
BeaTles recorded this entire album live in one day That’s insane !
  • @maxiobr8349
Anna is actually a cover and it was sung by John. John had a cold during the recording so his voice sounds a bit unusual. Their early albums included more covers as it was common back then. Baby it’s you is also sung by John and also a cover :D

Lemmy of Motorhead said the "1,2,3,4" was the count-in to a revolution.

I just stumbled across your videos and you're refreshing af. You understand music. You listen to what is not heard. It's honestly great to see. Legend.
  • “greatness is brewing” is the truest thing you said. The Beatles are the greatest and most influential band that has ever existed.
  • Don’t forget to work in the “Past Masters” CDs along the way! Those are all the singles and EPs (and other rarities) that they put out in between albums! You’ll find songs like Hold Your Hand, She Loves You, Long Tall Sally and many more there!
  • @samanthawale7684
I have watched many people react to The Beatles but I have to say you do it best. You actually take the time to research them and understand their perspectives and it is really refreshing to see. Keep it up!!!
  • These are all either written by John or Paul or covers written by others. George sings “So You Want to Know a Secret,” but it was written by John and Paul. They wrote songs for George and Ringo to sing.
  • @iqbalhussain9526
Don’t forget the single from the Revolver session 1966 ‘Rain’, which has Ringo’s greatest drumming ever!

This album was recorded in 1962-1963, so it reflects the late 50's & early 60's vibes. "Anna" was sung by John with backup vocals from George. "Chains" was sung by George. John sang the main part of "Baby It's You", the "Sha La Lal" part was sung by George. "Do You Want to Know a Secret" is sung by George and written by John. "There's a Place" is sung by John with backing from Paul. Songs were generally 2 1/2 to 3 minutes back then because radio would not play anything more than 3 minutes. They do all genres of music; you can't stick them to just one thing. The Beatles grew leaps and bounds from this album to their last album, all done in 7 1/2 years.
  • John sang lead on “Baby It’s You”, which is a cover of a song by girl group The Shirelles from 1961. In 1969 a group Smith covered the song achieving a #5 Top 40 hit.

i’ve been a beatles fan my whole life and this reaction made me appreciate this album way way more! a few things: the fellas writing so many relatively simple love songs at this time was a marketing tactic. singing so many songs addressed directly to their audience played a HUUUUGE role in their popularity early on bc their fans felt like they were being serenaded by these four charming good looking guys. i saw her standing there is mind blowing when you study the bass line and realize paul is playing it AND SINGING LEAD at the same time. same with ringo playing drums on boys. highly recommend watching the live performance of ISHST that they do at their 1964 washington dc show, ringo goes ballistic on the drums and it’s incredible. these reactions have been so fun to watch!! i’m 26 and seeing someone close to me in age listen to a lot of the beatles for the first time reaffirms my belief that my all time favorite band transcends all eras. can’t wait for the rest of the discography! much love
  • @ferpiopiogm
This is a moment in time when John and Paul's voices melt together in most of the songs, basically because they worked on the songs together and...as time went by, and they started to do their own thing and just work more separetely, you miss that thing, and when a song like Two Of Us get them together again, it sort of bring an emotion to the song that you cannot explain but it's a thrill!
  • @Abcadeaz
Also, fun fact - the version of love me do isnt actually ringo on drums, its andy white a session drummer they used only for that track. The original UK single version has ringo on drums, but that version is essentially lost to time and all that remains is a digital master of andy whitea version of love me do
