Sidney Poitier, receiving a lifetime achievement award. His speech said it all. He was a great actor and I miss him. His life was a lifetime achievement. Will never forget him. I'm sad because he is no longer in our lives. His movie's were wonderful. I hate to bring up a sore subject. Racism. His movie's proved Racism can be overcome. Whatever you think of race relations today, hear this: In 2006, I asked a young white boy (about 12) in my neighborhood what he wanted to be when he grew up. He said "an actor". Then I asked who his favorite actor was. He said "Sidney Poitier". I couldn't believe it. But there it is.
