EV sales have PLUMMETED in Europe - What about USA?

It was cool when you were the only one, now your 30-60 min charge also has a 30-60 min wait ahead of it. EVs don’t work in Europe density. You need home charging.

AS long as govt. subsidies and manufacturer discounts exist, ev's will continue to sell. Take those away a la Germany, demand tanks.

If you aren't interested in a used 5-year smart phone then chances are you won't be interested in a used 5-year old DEVAS. Disposable electric vehicle and software. Likely after 10 years the EV, like most software, will no longer be supported.

It's not surprising. Here in Europe battery cars are 2 times more expensive then USA and 4 times more expensive then china. The price is the most important thing

I think the difference between the EU and USA, aside from subsidies (which have been phased out for older, popular EVs already), is that American households generally can and do buy multiple cars per household. Most European households usually have one car or one car per person, which is less than the average US household. If you only have one vehicle for your household (like is the case for the average European family), why would you make your one vehicle an EV unless you really believed in them? On the other hand, the US household can entertain the idea of leasing an EV for cheap commuting because they'll have their ICE cars to fall back on in the areas where EVs are weak. Just another factor why demand is different between these two peer markets.

every car should be a 40-50 mile PHEV first before EV's even matter. EV's are just dumb at this point in time.

I show many cars to the side of the road today, two of them were Teslas. The Temperature reached 40°C 104F, I guess they can't cool the battery fast enough, before they run out of juice. :)

It’s not just EV. Most manufactures are experiencing lower sales due to high interest rate. Germany is literally in a depression right now.

The current EV incentives are very attractive. However, the charging network is still far behind to make an EV road trip, especially away from the Interstates, viable. I'm interested in getting an EV, and I have a road trip planned for the 4th of July week. Out of curiosity I looked up the charging locations en route. There were only a few, and couple of them will be right on the limit of the EV's 100% charge theoretical range. In the summer heat and AC running, if I'm in that EV I doubt I'll be able to make that trip.

I am NOT buying EVs until they design one that lasts 250k miles w.o. needing major repairs. Just like the peak of N/A ICE vehicles 5-10 years ago. Rather stick to those for the rest of my life! Oh and strip all the stupid tech out of them all. I just need power windows and door locks!

I don't like comparing sales by percent when the volumes are so low. If you sell 1 car, and now sell 2, "100%" still stinks. Need some kind of scale that includes volume to give a less misleading view on sales. BTW, you are incorrect on the "fire sale" on the BZ4X for employees. We weren't allowed to lease them at all until recently. Its ok, but certainly not "free" and Tacos are a better deal as the rates are based on residual value, so the Taco rules all. I have seen consumer (retail) lease deals on the BZ4X that were pretty amazing however.

Imo, this is great news for EV and ICE fans. ICE vehicles sales are down as well. That means vehicle prices are way too high. Let's wait for more competition from china to dominate the market and other manufacturers will need to follow their prices as well, to stay competitive. All cars prices will be affected by this (including ICE as well). Gotta love market correction.

Yeah if you can get a $200 lease on anything I’m sure the EV sales will rise, 3 years out though? That may be a mess in the used market.

American are still not going to buy EV’s over Hybrids or ICE cars because they still take to long to charge and time is money so every time I go to a charging station and spend a hr. Charging I lost money even if the charge is for free.!!!

And, maybe already mentioned by someone, people reporting EV battery problems in this intense nationwide heatwave, either real or prospective concerns about getting stuck, even stuck IN the car etc.
