His mother’s statement is one of the reasons why he takes no accountability. He’s disgusting and thinks he’s above the law.

He never breaks eye contact with the judge. This man is very dangerous. He isn't scared, or remorseful. He is angry that he got caught, and that he is no longer in control.

This judge gives me chills. Hes the real deal. A REAL JUDGE!!!! serves with honor.

We are so fortunate that Judge Newman is on the Murdaugh trial. A great jurist, a fair man, and a judge who does not bow to power or public pressure. Hopefully, he will write a book and tour to promote it some day. I'll be there.

Watching this again after the murdaugh trail and I didn’t realize this was judge Newman! I was livid with his mother’s little speech. She’s just trying to convince herself that she’s a good mother, but she really just enabled the monster he became. She doesn’t want anyone to see HER as the bad guy, not as much as she cares about her son being the bad guy. It was really pitiful. I’m glad judge shut her down immediately. He’s so well spoken, thoughtful, intelligent, and inspiring. Truly a respectable man and fair judge. Bless him.
