J Hope is a member of BTS! The South Korean group ◡̈ Cole is one of his idols. They’re huge fans of him and even did a cover of Born sinner called ‘Born singer’. J-Hope is currently getting ready to do his mandatory enlistment in the South Korean army, so this is kind of a little goodbye until he’ll be back! It’s really a full circle moment for him. You guys should def check out the heavy hip hop influenced tracks by BTS!
  • J-Hope wrote the melody (it's him whistling on the track) and he produced the track with Pdogg. He is talking to the BTS ARMY (fanbase). He is about to enlist in the South Korean Military (mandatory 18 months) and this is his goodbye gift to us. :) He is switching between Korean and English.

J-Hope is one of the members of BTS (one of the 3 rappers in the group who started off street dancing) and J. Cole is his idol. They did a cover of J. Cole's "Born Sinner" about 10 years ago called "Born Singer".

As fans of such diverse artists, it is easy for others to pass judgement and stereotype harshly based on genre and because of that, army, usually expect some type of criticism and backlash but shockingly most of the hip hop heads are open minded, so thank you. I really like how you guys do most of your videos and rap dissections. (Also an avid fan of j.cole) I think there's as much misconceptions about kpop (especially bts) as there is about hip hop. BTS have been honing their craft and changing the world. They have been known to support & pay homage to the great artists that have come before them by studying the game and having appreciation towards hip hop culture. So thank you for checking them out!

This is the last song Jhope is putting out before he goes to serve his military service. In South Korea it's mandatory for ALL males to serve 1.5-2 years in the military. Jcole and street dancing has been some of the roots for Jhope and his career as a member of BTS(most popular kpop male group) and a solo artist/producer. He grew up with hip-hop. It's been many years since he first started so before he takes a long break he decided to go back to his roots. Also to show how much he respects Jcole he gave him the longest verse on the song.
  • J. Cole talking about GOD (Born Sinner) and J-hope talking about BTS fans, "Army". The members always talk about how they always felt lacking and undeserving for all the fame and love they received. To them, they are just boys from country side of Korea. So they are always grateful to their fans who they believe made them who they are today. J. Cole wants to be someone that God is proud of (Born Sinner), J. Hope wants to become someone his fans are proud of. ARMY idolizes J. Hope, J. Hope idolizes J. Cole, J. Cole idolizes God. All praise to the Lord, most high. Beautiful.

Jcole is actually jhope's idol, and he mentioned him before in bts songs. He called him his muse. And i love that u pointed out that jhope was dancing to cole's verse cuz jhope was a street dancer before he became a rapper and he said this song is him going back to his roots so seeing him dancing to cole's verse is heartwarming. Idk if y'all noticed too , but hobi( jhope's nickname), gave the biggest part of the song to jcole, and it just shows how much love amd respect he has for him. Not to mention the mv is an homage to jcole's simba mv ( it was filmed in the same street). Ps: i would love if y'all checked out more of jhope's music.. I suggest his latest release "arson" or "more ".
  • According to a Korean literature professor, rhyming is really difficult in Korean, yet j-hope is noted as a genius when it comes to writing creative middle & end rhyming schemes.
  • Big ups to dube for going into the Military, good luck don't know to much about Hope or his group but that was something I found out about this collaboration.
  • J. Hope is a member of the biggest group in the world BTS. He's going to be enlisting in the Korean military soon because it's mandatory for all able bodied men in South Korea so this will be his last song before he enlists. J-Hope has 1 solo mixtape called Hope World from 2018 and 1 solo album Jack In the Box from 2022. He also headlined Lollapalooza last year in Chicago, the first Korean artist to do so.

J Hope is joining the Korean Military Soon, it's Mandatory for Koreans, so this was his goodbye Git for Fans. He used to dance to J Cole's Songs when he was still a Street Dancer, and after a listen to Friday Night Lights, he started writing songs and making his own Beats. He even named his first Mix Tape Hope-World after Cole-World. That's also the reason he gave Jermaine so many bars in his Song, he did out of respect. Recommend Checking out his Album Jack in the Box, it's a Hip Hop Album with lots of 90s Style Beats and crazy lyrics. Songs that i recommend, Arson, More, Stop, What if (he sampled ODB on that one), Airplane and Daydream
  • I have been a fan of you guys since a long time and I never expected you guys to react to BTS or at least to a member of BTS. And now I think a dream of mine came true, so thank you guys!!! I can promise you guys that you will love it once you go down the spiral with BTS. The rappers of BTS are some of the best lyricists I have come across. 💯💯 Edit:In case you want to check out the Rapline separately, here are some recommendations (of course they have way more songs and some may be better than these) The Rapline separately: J-Hope: Daydream, Arson, More, Blue Side, 1 Verse, HIPHOP PHILE RM: Intro:Persona, Forever rain, Joke, Monster Agust D: Daechwita, Agust D, People, Interlude:Shadow Rapline together: UGH, Ddaeng, Outro:Tear, and all the Cyphers

hobi is rhyming!!! if you listen to it without the subs on you can hear he’s rhyming but with the captions it’s showing a direct translation so of course it won’t rhyme 😭
  • @sc33h3o3
2:55 he's talking about [together with] Army. the song is message to Army before he's going to do military service.
  • @jenzee9015
Jhope is dancing in the background like he used to do back in the day. Jcole is his role model, when he met him he called him his muse so I think he wanted to recreate that This is like a goodbye for now song since he has to go to do his military service in South Korea for 2 years 😢

The reaction of JHope meeting Cole, put a smile on my face, so real and pure. The song is amazing, i wasn’t sold on the idea at first, but on the first listen i changed my mind. Cole dropped bar after bar, he just can’t miss right now. I seriously hope “The Fall Off” won’t be his last piece of art
  • J Hope , wonderful human, artist, rapper, musician, and a outstanding dancer who doesn't seem to have bones!

This opening scene in the alley is respect to how J.Cole's opens his first MV Simba.
