  • We needed that capybara post-credits scene, right movie lovers?!
  • @stephhmaa
To be honest, I'm glad they threw the idea of having Camilo turn into his true self away. Not because I think it's a waste of time or that he's not worth the effort, I'd just rather believe that Camilo still holds his body (the same one he was born with) the whole time instead of having to pretend he was someone else. Though Camilo could still have some problems understanding his true identity, it's a relief to know that it haven't been that severe. I really hope he finds out who he is and who he truly wants to be.
  • WAIT.... so what you're saying is, in the alternate Camilo ending... his OWN PARENTS don't even recognize what THEIR OWN SON looked like BEFORE he got his gift?? yooo that's messed up
  • @datasterisk3147
The thing with Camilo kinda explains to me why his door was the only one with a younger version of himself. Everyone else's doors looked like how they looked at present but if you see Camilo's, it's not the same. Made me wonder if he was gonna change when the magic disappeared but he didn't and it left me really confused.
  • @AustynSN
I think the thing with Camilo could be a great reveal/plot point for the character in a later film. The shock that we don't know what his true self looks like would be even more of a shock to the audience if we first (thought we) got to know him better.
  • I would have loved to see that alternative ending for Camillo because his character description was just "doesn't fully know himself yet". Which could lead to "masking up" and "acting up" as someone he thought could be the version of him that people would truly accept and loved. And stripping of this "power" to literally be someone else everytime could be a turning point for him. To really see himself as him and not some sugar-coated character he invented. I would have love that. And maybe that could help to create Encanto 2 where they could have address this things more.
  • @pdzombie1906
I like the mural ending, I think it would have been a little more clear Abuela's realization moment. No mention of Bru... Oh, right, we don't talk about him... Very interesting, Jan!!! Keep those deleted scenes coming!!! Thanx!!!

I understand having to scrap the Camilo sudden twist ending because it needed to be focused on finishing up the loose ends with the main character, but he IS the only member of the grandchildren that have received a gift previous to the film by at least a few years who does not receive a song or tell his story at all. Even Antonio has a larger part in the film and he's like five. I really would have loved to see Mirabel sort of treat him as a "behind the scenes" "invisible" character only for him to reveal how stifled, and worthless he feels. Because when you are constantly expected to take on the shape, form, personality, appearance of other people in order to please the people important to you - its a given that you will start to wonder why can't they just want you to be you.. what makes you so unwanted that you have to transform into someone else in order to help? Or in order to receive praise? I think he really could have done a lot about independence, imposter syndrome, depression, etc.
  • "Pedro's fate was already pretty dark for a Disney movie."

Bambi's mom, Mufasa, The Evil Queen, Maleficent, Mother Gothel, Gaston, Moana's grandma, Elsa and Anna's parents, and everyone else: "I guess we're alive. 🤷‍♂️"
  • @imss.nellee
Honestly in my opinion I think Pedro should've talked to Mirabel on the river scene. It's just to me that his spirit could just communicate with her, and after they were done talking Abuela would come and Pedro would just disappear. These are the words I was thinking "Your family doesn't think less of you, Mirabel. Your Abuela is upset and just wants the best for you and the family. My sacrifice was for Abuela, so my kids could have a longer time to live. So Mirabel please just stop trying to hard to impress. you impress me by being you." Then Mirabel replies saying "Thank you, Abuelo. That means so much to me. *cries*" and then they hug each other. That would just be interesting for me.
  • @Arkish.
I think, It was okay to transform Camilo to transform into his true self as long as it was limited to 2-3 specific features.
  • @pandahead2241
I would love to see Abuela's reaction in a second movie to the mural of Pedro after everything that happens in the first movie. I like the theory that Maribel is the candle's successor and I also like to think Pedro was part of the candle in picking out gifts for his family and saw that Maribel was someone that could also see his family the way he did. Hopefully that makes sense and a second movie will confirm that.
  • I wish they'd kept the mural ending. I actually cried hearing about that wheras I only cried at the the river scene because of Dos Orugitas playing in the background. If you removed Dos Orugitas there I would have just been staring with my typical blank face. The mural I probably would've cried either way. I feel that the fact that they NEEDED Dos Orugitas just to evoke emotion just takes away from how amazing that scene COULDVE been, even with the music.
  • @darliing_.
I want to see how that camilo scene would have turned out
  • The alternate ending for Camilo would kinda explain why his door shows his younger self and not his current self like the others. Like when he got his gift he was excited and was changing his appearance a lot, but then he forgot who his true self was and couldn’t change back, so he made up someone that would fit in the family regarding appearance.
  • I’m pretty sure another reason the alternate Camilo ending wouldn’t have worked is that since it’s a Disney movie, a lot of younger children would be watching and probably wouldn’t understand. They’d ask where the shapeshifter went and would get it unless explained
  • @jvloyola1882
this literally needs to have a series, who's with me?
  • @maul9468
i reeally like the version "a mural for pedro" if the "a mural for pedro" in the film that would make the film so emotional and i would like the film so muchh
  • I would love to see an Encanto series with each episode exploring a character. Like Camilo on his journey to find himself and who he wants to be
  • The scene where it talked about abulela having magical river hair reminded me of a story i use to hear as a child about a grandma who had such long hair that every thing would get stuck in it , She was helpful , kind and loved to cook for her grand children
