I'm really enjoying your vlog. I am also an elementary self-contained teacher! It's really great to see somebody else in the same position, as most teacher YouTubes are general ed

I cannot stress how inspirational you are. I’ve been watching you since your acne videos and accutane but these videos are so interesting and inspiring. I know you are a special education teacher but I wish I would’ve had such a dedicated teacher as yourself. New York needs teachers like you. Bless your journey. Thanks for sharing this with us!!!

Oh yeah...thanks for the TPT links ... I will be using both!!!
  • I laughed at the honeymoon phase and “then they don’t like me so much because I make them do things they don’t like to do.” Same!!
  • Love your videos! Do you have/know of a particular resource(s) you use as a goal bank for creating IEP’s? I love having new ideas for goals as I feel mine can sometimes become monotonous and rote. Thank you!

+raychullkins  , School is what it is and just like everything else in this life there are birds and bees and you cannot have the birds without bees but when you incorporate things that your students do at home trust me as an autistic former Special Ed student from the 80s and 90s it will at least lessen the sting of your lesson(s) and assignment(s) because it will help with demonstrating something instead of just teaching something and forcing the student into another world that they cannot align with . I came out of classrooms where I had to go through being forced to align with somebody else's world growing up in my younger years and there was where a number of my biggest educational challenges were and a number of times where my most challenging of behaviors came out of and I did not have the vocabulary or the ability to tell anyone this when I was younger because it was either I sucked it up and dealt with it or faced the consequences and back when I was growing up My Elementary School teachers resorted to inflicting pain " corporal punishment " over when I would struggle to get certain work done and not do it without bursting out an impression of a favorite cartoon character which for me were dominantly Disney Characters to relieve myself of stress for that moment and I basically wished a lot of My Elementary School days away . - Dwight
