  • These commercial beekeepers transporting hives across states are the biggest spreaders of SHB
  • @wildpinto3291
I put a decoy Yoko Ono in my hives and it broke up all my beetles. Sorry I had too.
  • Chickens!!!! I have my hive backed up to my chicken coop. Went from lots of beetles to one or two on occasion
  • I've found the clear reusable hive beetle traps work much better than the black beetle blaster trap. I don't use oil in the traps, instead I put about a quart inch of diatomaceous earth in it which works great. If you have lots of beetles you can also sprinkle the diatomaceous earth under the hive on the ground.

here in Tulsa, the swiffer sheets work very well
  • @sheafmom
I love your praying mantis assistant. 🥰 She is a beauty. Thank you for another helpful video.
  • @KyleCowden
I love the Beetle Blaster, Not only are they effective, the make great barometers for the conditions in the hive.
  • @rickmartin9861
The second beetle trap I put ac vinegar in the center compartment, as an attractant.
  • @namentatic4978
I tried almost everything. Even making some traps of CD cases. The Swiffer's pads work the best for me. Even some bees could be trapped, but SHB are mostly on. After that I picking up and burning them. Installing a new pads of course.

  • @thuffman44
Thanks David! Best of luck to your honeybees everyone!! 🐝🐝🐝✌️
  • @Steele_Wings
The clear oil trap works better with mineral oil. Use collected wax to bait the middle section first then add oil. I don't use the big black trap due to beetles hiding under the lip.
  • Hello David I have found out the black beetle blaster are reusable. If you hold them by the bottom and use a water hose and put it on the narrow hard stream and spray it in one end the beetles will come out the other end then turn it around and do the same do that back an forth it will clean the blaster out. Then lay it upside down in the sun to dry . Then put the cooking oil back in and reuse . Save money and always thanks for your video’s.
  • Well Dav. I know you are very smart but u can use cornola oil is the best as they love corn . . Rob.
