  • It's almost as if we allow companies to buy our politicians. Oh. We do.
  • @thetntsheep4075
The perfect way to make sure nothing significant is ever done about an issue is to politicise it.
  • I always become skeptical of something when I ask questions and get called names.
  • And then every politician says. “And I have a solution that can fix the problem in 4 years. Vote for me and let me ramp up your taxes.”
  • Imagine, Exxon would have been way ahead of its time if it had published the paper and offered renewable energy.
  • @inthegreen32
Its easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled...

"The regrets of yesterday and the fear of tomorrow can kill you."
  • @madokakaname471
its really hard to stop those big companies because they have alot of money , influence and power ... nobody can stop them This is the sad reality we live in
  • @radianzero
Exxon: Hires scientist Scientists: Will you listen to our research? Exxon: "Well yes, but actually no"
  • @JFB1111
To be fair, 1st scientific paper published on effects of CO2 was in 1896 or something like that. Science was pretty solid and confirmed by 1950/1960s
  • In the 1980s when I was a kid I was lead to believe that the Maldives would be underwater before 2020 , it's now 2022.
  • @ladyopaleye
I am not surprised that an oil company covered up climate change... makes sense, but unfortunate.
  • remember kids, individual action is important but wont be able to stop it - we need to pressure politics to do what needs to be done
  • Merchants of doubt documentary describes this in more detail but it is so interesting and honestly gets me so mad to think of the selfish companies who only wish to make profit at the expense of our earth
  • @fragones1237
Before Exxon takes down the video due to “copyright”
  • @LanceMiller87
The moment a scientific issue is "settled," it becomes religion, not science.
  • I know this was a depressing video but as someone who studied Environmental Science, Energy and Toxicology I have to tell you, that climate change is only a small part of a very serious human problem. We are changing the chemistry of the planet on many levels, more than just atmospheric composition. It comes from everything, many things in which you can’t easily substitute, including energy but most products, even food and raw materials. Permanent chemical change of matter weighed in the billions of tons, dumped every year, into any place we can put out of mind, ocean or hole. With growth every year. If you change the chemistry of a system, the whole system equilibrates, but it’s not the same anymore.
