As both a diver and a father, story #2 is completely insane to me. I can't even begin to imagine what that guy was thinking.

Father takes his uncertified first time diving son to one of the most dangerous dives on the planet. Very smart. Very smart.

The Alfredo story infuriates me like nothing else. You had a spelunking expert right there who was both familiar with people stuck in tight spaces and also knew the best way to get them out, and not only did they not listen to him, they actively went against his advice. The end result cost Alfredo his life. Whoever was on that fire brigade should have been fired for incompetence.

The fact that a father would take his son for scuba diving in literally warned "death" zone blows my mind!

"If you have a fear of deep, dark water or are claustrophobic" Yes. "You may want to consider skipping it" No.

Not cave diving is one of my favorite hobbies. I didn't go yesterday and it was a blast!!

I just researched the first story. It was quite a trip to reach the entrance to the Nam Talu cave. John and Helena had to travel 2 hours by boat to reach a small village and then they had to trek through the jungle for another 2 hours. After Helena's ordeal she had to make the 2 hour hike through the jungle again after being trapped in the cave for 16 hours. She contracted the life-threatening Weil’s disease from her time in the cave and spent a week in the hospital. This was the first leg in what was supposed to be a year-long trip, during which they would spend several months in Thailand before moving on to Australia, then Japan. John had inherited the family business and at just 24, he wanted to see more of the world before he settled down. Helena was only 21 at the time this tragedy occurred. She had to go to counseling to overcome her survivor's guilt , but is now happily married with several children.

Story #2: Listen, if you're an adult and you're not hurting anybody else, then my stance is you should have the freedom to take whatever risks you want, even if they're potentially fatal to you. But to drag a child into that situation, especially your own child, now that is downright criminal. Darren is an example of one of those people who never should've had kids.

It’s horrible how Dylan and Alfredo died, alone and in the dark, while depending on irresponsible and incompetent adults to help them. May they Rest In Peace,

That Alfredo story is wild. I dont even understand how the neighbor dug a hole so deep. Nor do I understand how world wide audience still led to incompetence instead of a handful of professionals coming together

These stories are heartbreaking. The last story is a perfect example of listening to the youth and not disregarding them. The young man tried to tell the fire brigade not to dig another whole, but ego got in the way.

After watching all of the videos on this channel: Note to self: No Caves. No SCUBA diving into Caves. No walking into caves. Don’t even look into a Cave.

Y’all know what is fun to me? Getting nachos with friends and not cave diving into a hole of death.

I actually went to those caves years ago. Only after we went out of the caves they thought about mentioning about those people dying in there. It was raining season, they still guided me in knowing full well of the dangers. It was so creepy but didn’t think about it anymore until I saw this video.
