General Session: Professor Clayton Christensen, author of “Competing Against Luck,” spoke at the 2017 National Summit on Education Reform on Thursday, November 30, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Professor Christensen discusses his research and theories on disruption and innovation in business to invoke a different way of thinking about how we deliver education. He challenged attendees to measure their lives not by numbers, but instead how they have helped put others on the path to becoming a better version of themselves. Hanna Skandera, Former Secretary of Public Education, New Mexico introduced Professor Christensen.

I so respected and admired Dr. Christensen. He was a gentleman of integrity, and a shining light in the business world. I do hope that his proteges and son carry on the values of his advanced work. May he rest in peace. He passed on before his time.

  • Two books published during 1997 - The Fourth Turning and The innovator's Dilemma - narrate the first half of the 21st century. I appreciate the spirit of the quote posted by Hans Jürgen Vetter. Good quote.
