What a beautiful story. I'm glad the staff of The Lexington returned the flag to the family. The story of the wives cleaning the shrine and talking with their husbands is so beautiful and poignant. I believe that the husbands will recognize their wives and they will be happy together forever. Thank you for doing this wonderful work. 🙏🏼☺️💕

I love your work. Thank you for that. I lived in Japan as a military dependent between 1961 and 1964. My family and I returned to Japan in 2018 and the country is even more lovely now than then. Interesting observation: When I was a young man in Japan...even though it was only 16 years after the war, there was no indication of a "war torn" country. By 1961 all evidence of the war had been removed with the exception of Hiroshima...which my father took our family to see. I love that country...and have followed your videos for the last several years. Again, thank you for your work. Although I don't share their faith and beliefs...it is right to honor a people of great dignity and beauty. Keep up the good work...

I just saw the live stream of the repatriation of the flag. I was in tears of happiness knowing that the Japanese soldier can finally be reunited with his family after 80 years. Now he can reunite with his beloved wife. May Shigeyoshi Mutsuda rest in eternal peace.

"Welcome home grandfather.", I can hear them saying this. Also, Thank you OBON Society. This also brings some level of closure for me as someone with a Japanese relative. I never knew her family but I know now that their precious remains have gone home.

I got the chance to take my son to the Lexington just a few days ago. It was amazing to watch him experience all of it just the way I did. This is a beautiful video. Great job on returning the remains ❤

Truth justice and American way . If these Japanese soldiers where involved in the rape of Nanking do you think they have earned the right to go home . Or the massacre of philipino families or tortured and murder of us marines prisoners of war 🤷🏻‍♂️hope one day you guys try bringing home us marines missing in action

4:45 That's a noble sentiment, but history would disagree: hundreds of women and children killed in Mai Lai Vietnam, not a single person punished. Since 2001 there's been millions of civilians killed by U.S. wars. Japan to this very day has 70 U.S. military bases stationed around the island in a permanent occupation. You should update your slogan so the kids get a clearer understanding of what they are signing up for.
