I must say, I do like Dragon Ball GT. 1. Only one form. In DBS they keep bringing new forms in. Whether that be a variation or SSG or now UI, GT stuck with SSJ4 and worked with a more unique way to deal with things(fusion for Omega Shenron) 2. Goku. DBS is doing Goku rough. Their making him act not like the martial arts master he actually is. Also in DBZ, Goku wanted less involvement with everything. Gohan to Cell, Goten and Trunks to Buu. Only stepping in when he needed too. He enjoyed fighting but once he realized it’s time to put a villain down, there’s no other way. GT keeps that character going, while Super makes him seem like he only wants to fight people for fun. Which is fine, but a bad continuation from DBZ

‘Why does Super 17 keep pushing his hair back?’ As someone who’s had hair not even half that long, I constantly had to push it out of my face. So longer hair+constantly fighting, I think it’s unrealistic how few times he pushes it back
  • Like DBS, GT is very flawed but I deeply think both of them tried in their own ways to make a sequel to DBZ. Unfortunately the task is really hard and even with the best of intentions and interesting ideas/concepts what they ended up doing was very disappointing or too unequal. I still like both for different reasons but they are still far from the level of quality of DBZ.

The symbolism with baby is that he got his revenge for his ppl but ultimately became just like the saiyans he hated so much

Baby becoming the Oozaru and wrecking havoc on his people is a good irony and shows how tainted Baby's justice got. He became the very thing he chose to make suffer and now enjoys thag power so much that he forgets what he was even created for. Heck he didnt even hesitate to blow up the Earth. Lastly, Dr Miyu programmed hell fighter 17 to control 17 in order for him to forcefully get him to merge with him to create super 17 and be the one in control.

Just once, I would love Vegeta to be allowed to save the day... He's always been my favorite

I liked GT Goku more than Super Gok ngl, Id rather take always hungry kid Goku who is still the martial artist we all know and love over a Goku that can't count to 10 29:20 nah man this scene here... It just hit me in the feels so hard

Honestly, while I prefer GT as a sequel concept, I like rewatching Super more than GT. While it's still Goku Time a lot, it does put in a lot more effort for the other characters in terms of fighting and slice of life. Part of what I want to see from a sequel is how the characters have grown and changed since the end of the prequel, but we only got tidbits of that in GT. Granted, I did like those tidbits, especially the Bra and Vegeta moments, Gohan not always seeming weak, and Trunks and Goten having their own lives.

Imo GT is only rejected because it’s not technically canon. As a show it was pretty damn good not to mention the movies during that time were top tier. They brought back a bunch of original characters, the writing was good for the most part, the only thing that really showed was how stupid Goku acted compared to Z but that imo is just part of his character and an ongoing trope.
  • No it really wasn't that bad in fact looking back on things in hindsight (and looking at what's coming in the future) it was actually pretty damn good, with an ending that we as dragonball fans deserve to have. The GT ending is how the whole series should rap up.

1:26:02 listen I've been thrown GT hate my entire life, I just appreciate a video like this existing. I'm fine that people hate this anime that I enjoy because I fully get why they hate it, but I'm always glad to see somebody else appreciate it like I once did

Based on the title alone and not watching the video, I always scream gt is a way better successor than super. Simply for the fact that gokus character development is overall better and more fitting to the goku some of us watched since the OG dragon ball. Everything about gt is in my opinion is more true to the series. Super really is just lackluster and a huge let down other that the tournament of power and even then the only thing worth watching was goku vs jiren. Idk I’ll die on this hill tho
  • @MaxAndStuff
the ending really crushed me. it felt like a real goodbye to the series. seeing goku disappear to nowhere made me cry (literally) Dan dan is the best opening song btw

The nameless namekian created the Black star balls. Its also why they turned to stone after Piccolo died.
  • @ryszakowy
no it's actually very good the only bad part is literally the first arc where they go around cosmos looking for dragon balls the rest is great only people pretend to hate it because they have nothing better to do with their lives
  • @kzumf
Dragon Ball GT was better than Super. In GT, Goku at least is a child, in Super he behaves like one.

I kind of like gt, it could be massively improved but the ideias are there. Uub and Pan were both wasted as characters there, they already had a good base to start growing, unfortunetly they focused the story COMPLETELY on Goku. For example in the first arc goku should had refused to join the group and send Uub instead, and since he had instant trasmission he could had save them once in a while when needed, that way the characters would grow in every aspect, we could see more of Uub and the results of his training so far, Trunks getting back on shape, and Pan slowly gaining respect (and power), how they would solve problems and evolve. Baby arc was ok, the only thing i would chance is after getting beaten by baby the 1 time uub would be saved Goku who once again appeared to save the day, he would just appear sooner and the rest would go as usual except at the end after unlocking ssj4 he no longer is a child anymore. Super seventeen is tricky to work around, but someone who worked for dr muy survived and got the normal earth dragon balls reviving him and him reviving dr gero (they met on hell as usual) then they would build super 17, find a way to open a portal to hell and trap GOKU AND VEGETA there. In hell goku and Vegeta would fight back to back against frieza and Cell, they would be stronger but the fight would be far more close respecting every character involved (Vegeta would finally kill Frieza) Meanwhile on earth everyone would be fighting against super 17 (and pherphaps others who escaped from hell) In that fight Ubb and Gohan would have serious trouble dealing whit super 17 (gohan didnt train that much but he still was able to keep up a bit) and eventually Uub and Gohan would be losing badly and Buu would came to help and finally fuse whit Uub who then would defeat super 17, while the other characters would be fighting other villains, after that they would release or bring Goku and Vegeta back from hell and use the dragon balls The the dragon saga is pretty simple, they would join in teams of 2 for example and go look for the dragons. Then they would have to get the dragon balls by force. In one of those fights Pan would be able to prove herself saving her partner (probably Gohan) and together they would win the battle. Eventually everyone would join together and the last dragon would be able to steal and absorb the dragon balls getting too strong. Then Goku and Vegeta would fight him like usual and the rest would go exactly the same. All this taking a filler or two out of the way and Gt would be perfect in my opinion
  • @Hunkzilla
It had good ideas . Unfortunately ,those ideas were executed quite badly. They knew how a Saga would begin and how it ends. They just did not know how to fill in the middle which showed us how they got from beginning to end.
  • @deebojordan7406
GT didn't take away Goku's intelligence. Super however... 😑
