I love how Louis just turns off when Brain and Lawrence just interrupt him with meaningless conversation and then carries on exactly where he was before he was rudely interrupted

Louis' dad, Paul Theroux wrote it perfectly... "It is the public men who have the darkest secrets. They have the deepest cellars and hottest attics, and they are consoled by blindness and locked doors. It is impossible to guess at what truly animates these people whose surfaces we seem to know so well, and there is nothing in the world harder to know than the private life of a public man."

Sex offenders are very manipulative. They exist because of that. Louis just became another victim of the lies and games these types play. He is a brilliant documentary maker.
  • Refreshing to hear someone talk so openly with no fear of being branded a 'sympathiser'. Louis's quite unique in his brilliant style and application.

The real crime is that the truth didn’t come out until he died

This is so fascinating. I know the presenters were keen to hear Louis' answers, but I wish they'd allowed him to finish sentences and not finish them for him.
  • I met louis at embankment tube station in 2000. I saw him get of the train and I said to my gf at the time, "that's Louie Theroux," he heard me changed direction and approached me. He said hi and shook my hand. " I told him I loved his documentaries (weird weekends). He said " thanks," and went on his way. Genuinely nice guy

Louis really needed more talented interviewers for this.

Louis is a national treasure. His documentaries are brilliant.

Jonny rotten was screaming it for years
  • Always loved Louis. His interview style in his docs is something I’ve come to love over the years. He never shows how he truly feels and keeps a stoic unbiased facial expression and view, and politely interjects his opinion and such a manner that it’s fascinating to watch. He really gets into what he’s investigating and has brought some of the best journalism to us over the last couple decades.

Love seeing Louis being really open and talkative. Love his docs
  • Louis is extremely good at reading people. He is a masterclass in interview techniques. He comes in from the side. He would make a good shark.

Louis is an incredibly intelligent, honest and thoughtful journalist. Certainly one of the most genuine ever to have been on our screens, I have great respect and admiration for his incredible integrity!

I always remember the story of one young girl who was invited to see Saville in his caravan in the grounds of a hospital or children’s home , of course he tried it on with her, she protested and complained to the ‘ management’ , and was immediately put into isolation for three days until she agreed not to complain.

The BBC's silence tells me all I need to know, same for Prince Andrew since the Maitlis interview.

Louis has tackled the most taboo subjects brilliantly and continues to do so. In respect of the Jimmy Saville documentary it's easy for anyone to look in hindsight at the past and it is a shame that Louis has to defend himself. I remember my mother saying many years ago when he was on Jim'll Fix It that she couldn't stand the man and he gave her the creeps. I always remember her repeatedly saying that she didn't trust him whenever he appeared on the TV and I don't doubt this a view that was shared by many across the country well before his death.

The best Doco maker ever in my opinion…his honesty is what I love. Louis is so humble as well. His intelligent I could go on and on. Never say never but I doubt I will see another Louis Theroux in my lifetime
  • When i was a child in hospital i remember hearing a nurse say jimmy Saville is visiting we need to protect the children.
