Gios Kelme vintage bike RESTORATION (part 1)

Today I will be restoring Gios Compact bike from the Kelme stable, which bears the name of the cyclist Roberto Heras Hernández. Unless it is a name coincidence he is a Spanish professional cyclist who has won the Spanish Vuelta four unbelievable times. From 1997 to 2005 he finished in the top 5 at the Vuelta every year except 1998 when he finished 6th. So this is a really special race bike at Campa Record Tinanium!

Dnes budu restaurovat kolo Gios Compact ze stáje Kelme, které nese jméno závodníka Hernández. Pokud nejde o shodu jmen jedná se o španělského profesionálního závodníka, který rekordně čtyřikrát vyhrál španělskou Vueltu. V letech 1997 až 2005 skončil v top 5 na Vueltě každý rok kromě roku 1998, kdy skončil 6. Takže opravdu závodní kolo na Campě Record Tinanium!

Lovely steel Gios, Italian geometry and fantastic looks! I am currently restoring a previously damaged/badly repaired (they mig welded the headtube?), [then fixed again with tig], and left bare metal- Gios Cinquantenario 50 in that brilliant Gios blue, with a mix of Campagnolo parts including cxp30 mavics on chorus hubs, Athena crankset, mirage and Athena derailiers, a consor saddle, and cinelli stem/bars.though I haven't sorted the levers yet. The cranksets from Campagnolo 8 and 9spd were very elegant. It has the same unique rear Gios dropouts.

Roberto Heras is 1,72 cms tall, that frame is a little bit big for him, but your work is as good as always anyway...waiting for the second part

Brzdy do ultrazvukové čističky bez rozebrání a pak bez namazání a to samé ergopowery. To se mi moc nelíbilo.
