“There are concerns that, as each side take steps to retaliate against the other, at some point you will cross a trip wire and end up where you don’t want to be.”

The Biden administration has been “working very hard” to stop the tensions between Israel and Iran escalating into a war, says former US deputy consul general to Israel Gerald Feierstein.

The US "escalation management" is pretty ineffective.
  • @minraja
Should they wait until after they test out their nuke before doing something about it? Why won't anyone hold them accountable for using their proxies to attack there neighbors? Why do they waste their time chasing after the proxies while ignoring the cause of all this?
  • @K1110.
The US working around the clock for de-escalation while supplying weapons for escalation. 🙃

It was all decided at his recent visit to DC. America will fall into line.

Right, while the Pentagon is loading up the weapons and munitions to send to Israel. Hypocritical much?

It is worth mentioning the other reason that Israel has taken & refuses to return the Golan Heights. It is an important water resource.

It's such a shameful behavior from the Canadian team.

The first reports from actual witnesses say the rocket came from the Iron dome so grain of salt this one.

How would the US have responded , if , when Japan invaded , and the rest of the world called for Peace and negotiations . I don't believe the US would have bowed C A McLean

Your all being fools. we are already in a regional war.

On what basis does the interviewee state that the attack was a Hezbollah rocket? He correctly states later that Hezbollah denied it and that there is no reason they would attack the Druze, who are Syrians not Israelis anyway. Never the less he just assumes the Israeli narrative.

Good luck because it seems no one can tell Bibi what to do, as he does what he wants to do judging by his icc warrant.
  • @ragingmonk6080
Even Obama told Bibi that if he starts something he is on his own. America backs that policy. We are not going to war for the rightwing of Netanyahu's party. We done with country in general.

Ridiculous equivocation. Israelis being attacked by Hezbollah since last October. By the way, according to 2006 agreement, Hezbollah shouldn’t be on that side of the river at all. Where is the UN condemnation? It’s absolutely disgusting that everyones interests should come first, but Israel is always the one that has to deal with the consequences.

If you start with wrong facts, your commentary isn't worth much
  • can somebody just lock him up and take him to the Hague ..? And while he stays there, maybe some of those corruption charges can also lead to lifelong sentences? 400 years sounds about right ...

The indiscriminate attack on civilians was truly awful and should not have happened, regardless of who is responsible. Likewise the indiscriminate attacks taking place every day by Israel on Palestinians civilians, resulting in a death toll now of over 40,000 civilians, mainly women and children, is abhorrent. However, you seldom hear any Israeli or American politicians talking about that.
