For night trap, the game was originally planned to be on a playable tape. Tapes store data just like other devices and can technically play games, but discs are better

The typing/clicking interaction gimmick was immediately immersion-breaking for me. It's great to hear that mentioned at all by someone else! I recognize that it's probably there in reference to Dora the Explorer, but that show takes place inside a computer game!!
