By far still the best documentary on this horrible problem!
  • I've just watched this after visiting Seattle as a tourist from the UK and being so shocked at how bad the place is. It appears nothing has changed since this documentary. I visited on my own and just felt downright unsafe a lot of the time. I just can't believe nothing is being done about this. It's a shame because the city seems to have so much to offer but I will never visit again nor would I recommend anyone else to. OK some places in the UK have their issues but I have never felt as uncomfortable as I have been in Seattle. I hope for everyone's sakes this is sorted eventually.
  • "They live in filth and despair, like animals." Animals don't live like that.
  • Portland is dying too. Only difference is our news stations here don't have the cojones to produce a documentary like this one.
  • This documentary needs an update, it's SO much worse now. I refuse to go downtown.
  • What an excellent program. I am a recovering alcoholic/addict and this program was my meeting for today. Thanks for showing the ugly truth of addiction and the hope that comes with treatment and structure!!🙏🏿
  • Good thing there’s no plastic straws cluttering the streets
  • The trash in Seattle is located in city hall. The trash IS THE CITY COUNCIL.

Im an OTR trucker who runs West Coast . Seattle ,Portland and Oakland were the worst places I had to go to. Think about that for a minute.
  • ABC did this? ABC did this!?! It's actually journalism . I almost forgot how to spell that word. Well, good job Eric. I hope they don't fire you.
  • This documentary is FOUR years old. Nothing has gotten better. Heart wrenching.

Here I am watching this 4 years later and I bet it's worse than ever.
  • I live on the opposite side of the country and love this video. one of the best examples of journalism of all time.
  • Seattle Mayor: “It is wrong to conflate homelessness with a rise in crime”. SMH 🤦‍♀️
  • As a Canadian for years starting in the 70s my wife and l spent a week every year in San Francisco...we stopped about 25+ years ago because we became so disappointed in the city... Seattle unfortunately looks the same....l lost my wife and looking around Canada l saw the problems surrounding high housing prices....the new garney state....cashed out and now live on a remote Pacific beach...l admittedly dropped out
  • Meanwhile, in Spokane, my stepson, only 3 months out of prison relapsed on meth two times. He entered a house, stole only their phones and left. When the police found him, he begged them to shoot him. He was given 16 years in prison. The contrast is insane. He had no violent crimes and had never been to treatment. Just prison over and over again. Sad.
