Happy Friday guys! Toyota is definitely late to the EV party with this vehicle and next week, we are heading to San Diego to finally get behind the wheel of the Lexus version, known as the RZ 450e. Despite the disadvantages on paper, there is something still very intriguing about the bZ4X when you live with it for a few days. Charging times are definitely SLOW, but as long as you mostly charge at home, you won't really notice that and we also wanted to clarify that we misspoke a couple times in the video where we said the wheels reduce the range by 10 MPG, we obviously meant miles 😬

It's like car manufacturers as a whole are just trolling us at this point with piano black plastic. I can't be the only one that would rather have matte black plastic instead of piano black

"For those of you who haven't driven the competitors, it'll be a very impressive vehicle" 😂

I love the interaction with your fan at the charger. that's how you know you've made it sofyan!

Thanks for not editing out the fan interaction. Great to hear his excitement and how gracious you were.

You always do the most thorough reviews! Thank you!

EVs are not for me just yet, but I still enjoy your contents! Keep up the great work!

I just want to appreciate your review, I own one and love it, design, comfort, power all that I was looking for, camera its the best one ive seen, prior I own a lexus.

Range impact for heater use was over estimated. The software update scheduled for May will adjust that calculation to be more accurate.

Loved that fan-meet content! hehehehe <3

I personally think we need more EVs like this, a little cheaper, slower and shorter range. 90% of the general public will definitely get their day-to-day driving with 200 miles or even less, and apart from Tesla you cant really road trip with that many EVs. I still don't get why people care about performance in their family cross over, no one is buying a family crossover to go 0-60 in 3 secs and to hit up a backroad, most people just want their EVs to work, ride comfortably and be smooth. This is why vehicles like the RAV4 hybrid, CRV etc all sell well, they aren't the fastest or most exciting crossovers, but they just work, and I think Toyota has implemented that well into this vehicle, I do wish it had faster charging tho.

Was going to order it since we love our rav4 2019 limited...but sadly this model isn't good enough...so we went for the ioniq 5 preferred long rang ultimate...very sad for us to ditch the Toyota badge

Nice to see that Toyota is using the Panasonic evse (charging cord). Same unit came with my Honda Clarity. That unit will run on either 120v or 240v power.

I missed any discussion on cargo space. No Frunk means you'll need rear cargo space. Does it have decent space back there?

My first EV was a 2021 RWD Id.4 Pro S w/Gradient. I traded that in for an AWD EV6 GT Line.... I then traded that in a few months ago for a FWD BZ4X Limited. I love the bZ... I realize that it is not objectively the "Best"... it has shorter range and chargers slower. But a lot of little things work well. The lane centering is great, the adaptive cruise is smooth...the seats are comfortable... I can use the wireless charger because its covered and the sun doesn't beat down on my phone heating it up. I charge at home every night and don't really do road trips. I love the look as well as the fact that it feels like an actual SUV.

I travel allot and leave my car parked in the airport. I'm curious how long does the charge hold?

Just saw this in person great looking car starting at 42k too.

I like it :) Would go for a darker colour though, personally. Something like the gun-metal grey they have as an option for the Bz4X.
