Improvising is hard. But actors still need to be able to pull of this difficult skill set. At any moment, they may need to react to an unexpected element in a scene. However, it can also be a tool of fun! Many actors love the thrill of devising dialogue on the spot. It can give them the opportunity to express some creative flair. "He's a friend from work" is one of my favorite single lines in the MCU. Pretty incredible considering its source. That was surprising lol. It really was a perfect line for Hemsworth. I can imagine Stark saying it, but it wouldn't have been quite as perfect as it was for Hemsworth's Thor.
