On vacation in Tokyo and was in hotel when it happened on the 11th floor. Building was swaying half a foot on each side, definitely one of the scariest and heart pumping things I’ve faced. A feeling of helplessness but strength in Japanese engineers. Truly the best.

I lived in Japan for 3 years. They average 1,000 earthquakes per year. Most are small and go unnoticed, but when there's a big one, you never forget that experience, the feeling of helplessness.

I’m Japanese, and I report from Osaka, Japan. Large areas of Toyama and Ishikawa prefectures were affected, and a large fire is currently raging in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, which was particularly hard hit. In addition, roads have been damaged and there are not enough people to rescue them. Serious damage is expected.

This is Japanese who live in Northern Japan. Thank you for all kind comments for us. Actually, this quake impact a lot of people, not only people who live in Ishikawa prefecture. When we have one big quake first at about 4:30 pm, we thought it was just one. BUT, pretty big quake (Magnitude 6.0more) happened a lot after big one. Hopefully, even Happy New Year day, government and our emergency plan is working successfully.
  • 🙏🏾 Praying for all my Japanese friends in Japan as well as all the country's people, military service members, and foreigners living in the beautiful country as they go through this trying time.
